In the Remix Heart manga Mai fought with a sword and parrying dagger, though she also used martial arts (mainly kicks; she had said in CPE that she had trained in martial arts since childhood) and also knew how to use assassination techniques.

As an Alchemist, he's below Nine who's below Relius who's below Trinity. As an Ars Magus researcher, he's below Relius, who's below Terumi, who's below Nine. He overwhelmed a few students with careful planning and surprise moves, but that doesn't mean he can beat someone who actually knows how to fight well. There are a few characters who's normals carry projectile properties like nu lamb azrael and rachel so it would not surprise me if her long range ones count as projectile and her short range don't.
Also I did notice that there we're quite a few times where instead of going for the long range water low he opted for the short range fire low. I'm assuming that's to check for 5dd attempts. I'm even more convinced after seeing that same nine player get bodied by relius. He got his shit pushed in but he made more attempts to fight a ground game.

If a Terumi player presses 6C and flies towards you, block the entire thing and then hit him with absolutely anything because Terumi 6C is garbage but they will spam it against you either way. Also Terumi does not have a standing overhead so just block low, and his commandgrab is very slow.
Basically expect alot of Terumi, Jin, and Bullet.

Terumi's command grab isn't especially slow as a mixup tool, but if you neutral jump it it's a free fatal counter for you.
Likewise, instant blocking the last hit of 6C will allow you to get a counter punish with some slower moves, so you can get some sick fatal counter combos that way, too
