as a person who does not fly caps and a member of an alliance that does not, to my knowledge, fly any caps except the odd freighter, this is my understanding of what happened:

I probably wouldn't want to live out there full time. I don't know how crowded X-7O and the associated systems are when there's no war, but I would assume that you will be constantly fucked with by any locals. You can probably do missions without dying, but you'll have to spend a lot of time cloaked or docked up when people try to probe you. And you'll need a lot of gate tacs and safespots because that pipe is camped and bubbled quite often. Or it was, anyway.

You could do it, but you'd need to bring a bunch of stuff out with you, like a DST full of shit or a jump freighter if you have one. Then jump clone back to empire and leave your clone up there. Go up when you want to mission, go back when you don't.

You're better off just grinding in Simela or some other empire system if you just want standing. I can empathize, I used to grind standing on my characters for personal head-cannon, but it's worthless and a waste of time unless you're just playing solo and have nothing better to do.

I would prefer roaming gangs of DED special ops that just engage the notorious pilots you mention without any warning or provocation. They can give them sleeper AI or whatever, and also give them probing ships to scan them down. They would be killable, but tough. You don't get concorded for engaging them (after they attack you), but you do get suspect status. No loot drops.

Add a function to pirate faction locator agents that will tell you what constellation the DED task force is deployed to. It will change at random intervals.

Problem is, targets like those never undock except for very specific reasons for a short amount of time and do so in easily replaceable ships. Anytime they need to do any legnthy activity, they'd use an alt.

Without fixing this, gank squads are just going to continue doing their thing and suffer zero long term consequences of it.

yeah I've been there for the last 3 days, tried 2 different drone regions and probably did 15 sites which isn't much but it did take a total of about 12 hours. No escalation sites but I've got a shitload of intergrated drone blueprints, best one would net me about 0.5bill but I need a skill injector in get all the shit I need to manufacture it

Well those domination POS guns are real hot sellers. Not even profitable to manufacture unless you also have a bp and mats to build the regular turret too. Literally all I've gotten from sites. I had an ascendant implant blueprint once, but tried to hack a third can and got blown up by the npcs.

And my idea to set up a PI network in Curse has totally backfired in the face of this 10k skill point daily shit. Now I have to go to Empire every day to kill a rat. I could try and pick off frigs in 0.0 belts I guess, but with my luck I'd probably just get killed.

I wanted to manufacture implants, but there's almost no profit in them even if you make all the PI mats yourself, which are all advanced mats and it takes like 2 weeks to get the mats for a single implant.

I'm just going to pack everything up and go set up a PI network closer to a trade hub. Because I still had to cart that shit through all of Derelik just to sell it.

Guess I am bad at making money.

other people have hyper optimized this process, the only real valuable thing is the BPC if you find it. Someone already generates the mats because they're making the mats for other T2 invention and production as well

I just wanted to do something interesting, I'm not trying to make a fortune. I wasn't playing when they released the implant BPCs and it seemed neat. I had done drug manufacturing in the past (in my own 2 character corp) and that was a pain in the ass, but satisfying. Guess I will just have to do the same shit as everyone else for money.

I thought about starting my own drug corporation and recruiting 2 or 3 other people, but I wound up joining an established one that purported to be in the business. Except now I'm just an F1 shitter and spend all of my time on my main doing pvp ops.

I'd like to leave, but I'm still owed like 500m in SRP and I have most of my assets in places where I wouldn't be able to access them if I left.

Plus there's no sound in space. IIRC they spun it in a chronicle or something that the pod interface creates sounds to keep the pilot from getting disoriented or something like that.

I only do gas sites in C5 and C6 space with 'core' in the name, they contain the fullerite c320. if you're poor though you might want to do the less rare sites as well. I think the guide mentions how the rats work, and also the special retarded site with the instapop sentry guns

there are gas sites in lowsec as well, but they're different. I found some pretty good ones, no rat spawns at all, and a venture's worth of golden cytoserocin. I also found plenty with rats, and plenty with worthless shit gas (mykoserocin). presumably the other cytoserocin gases are in lowsec or nullsec, but I've not bothered to look it up, I prefer to just try stuff out myself

Thanks. And the lowsec gas is for making boosters, that's what I have prior experience with. Myko is for synth boosters, and while not as expensive as cyto, it's worth a little depending on what it is. Most people sell it for dirt cheap though so you don't really need to spend time mining it if you're making synths. Hauling it can be a pain though, unless you have a jump freighter. The profit margins on synths are insane, but the demand isn't too high and you're not gonna make billions only doing synths.

If you look on the old map you may see various constellations labeled within the pirate regions and low-sec border regions. Those constellations spawn the gas sites at an increased rate. It seems like they have made them even more rare outside of the constellations, but you can supposedly still find them. The majority of low sec sites will be myko, majority of null will be cyto, but there's the possibility for either. Certain types of gas are exclusive to certain regions. For example I think Golden is only found in Lonetrek and Pure Blind, or maybe Venal. I've never done a site with rats, but some of them do have rolling waves of AoE damage. Not too severe though. I know my current corp has listings of all of the sites and what they have, but it can be tough to figure stuff out about booster production. People who do it tend to keep their cards close. There's an old guide that's still relevant if you want to know more. Google "atap booster production" and it will be the first result.

old einherjis had no problem hitting cruisers and they applied well enough to battleships, even then the new fighters are all insta-locking front loaded raw alpha that literally two shot a fucking battleship. The old fighters were effectively big drones and acted as such. They took much longer to respond and traveled like drones. Their damage was split at 15 second intervals.

battleships follow the rules with ship sizes and have a lot of problems to deal with - they get all the disadvantages of shitty tracking shitty scan res and shitty mobility (mjds and grapplers are they only class-breaking thing they get). they're more expensive than cruisers, but that doesn't mean they get a load of immunities and retarded aids - they get the good and the bad from being a larger ship class.
carriers though, just fuck. what does a battleship do that a carrier doesn't? what advantage from being a battleship-size ship do you get over being a capital-size ship? they can align in 10 seconds like a battleship, carriers now lock like interceptors (remember guys they need that instalock module so they can kill enemy fighters :^)), and they apply their higher dps more effectively out to infinite range

it's all fucked up, and you should biomass and unsub irl if you disagree

I thought it was pretty simple. a cruiser cannot use its better speed and sig up close against a battleship to mitigate the battleship's higher damage, because the battleship has a magic web. same with the mjd, it cancels out some of the downsides you're supposed to deal with from being in a bigger ship. I'm not very mad about mjds and grapplers though because there's a vast list of massively more broken things, and mjds are fun anyway
