Limit Break is ok and without any scaling problems of compounds. What really made Fi/X classes be a plague was that a million other skills activated with it on top of critical strike and other mains having no or way worse damage skills.
It also has a tradeoff of having no health which can only be offset by paying a lot of money for most expensive affixes unless you want to be no damage Firesword (and that's also retarded anyway).
