Yep the netcode is shit. I don't claim to understand how it works, but the same happens to me, other times it is fine though. If you want to keep laggy scrubs to a minimum, disable international players in the options menu.

Honestly, the straight swords are too fast, too long, and do too much damage. It's insane.
The reason you can mop people like that is because your first two hits always land, but if you just spam, your third hit can continue to land even if they roll away from you after the second.
If they are aggressive and try to roll through your third attack, you just keep spamming and end up bursting them that way, too. It's nuts

No, you invade a level range that's slightly below and a bit above you.
Weapon upgrades don't really matter anymore, everyone in the first few areas will have upto a +3/4 weapon and the game is active enough for it to not really matter if you're slightly above or below.

good luck anonI started pyromancer, it has the lower overal SL when not levelling anything other than end vgr attunement int or faith. However, sorcerer has points in dex instead of str. Which will help with the variety of weapons you can use. Also helps a bit with cast speed

I can trade just fine with a heavier weapon, but the estus disadvantage is a problem, and even if they swing six times, they can still sprint after you to finish the job with half stamina.
Heavy weapon users are fucked against r1 spam because stun is almost universally 2 hits: if you can't kill them in two, you're out of luck.

I'm not convinced that the staff wielding corvids in road of sacrifices actually do drop hollow gems.
I've got 40 luck, mimic head, sage rapier, gold ring and used this gear to farm all the covenant items to 30 with little problems. I farmed flamberge with it. I farmed harpe, I farmed lots of rare drops.
I have been farming the birdmen at road of sacrifices and the staff wielding ones have never dropped anything other than storyteller staff.
I recall when I first passed through that I did get a hollow gem off one of them yes but It's my suspicion that it is a one-time 100% drop, like certain other things in the game, and doesn't actually drop naturally.
If anyone can prove me wrong by citing anything other than fucking fextralife then please do because I am losing my goddamn mind. I've been doing this for seven fucking hours over the past two days and not had a single fucking gem drop.

Can't use in a fight realistically
Blessed weapon is less damage than elementally appropriate resin. (special mention to the heal scaling with faith though)
Emit Force is slow and with 60 faith and saints talisman hits players for just under 150 damage depending on what they're wearing. 400 damage on an enemy and being only usable before an engagement is not efficient.

You can be hit twice and they can still have time to dodge. Gimmicks are tricks that only work once. I did this with lightning stake, which has a larger aoe and lightning storm.
