I was always trying to figure out why people did this for the longest time until it dawned on me when a player said "borg can you do this please?" and I responded "Yes of course, you do not have to say please" and he said "Yeah but it's just nice" etc etc.

You have no idea if people are taking it too far and it would be an impossible task to arbitrate all "compiling" PRs in any realistic sense. You can cry and say, "But we voted about the mancrowave so it's not fair!" but if you ask me, I don't believe a single word of that. While maybe it's true that the dominant opinions didn't center around round machinery, it has already been shown from some medbay logs that it's snowflaked sleeper. This is just ONE feature from a merge that was up for what, months? What of the test server? All it would take is 10 seconds to add something round ruining, and could be incredibly easy to miss. Why on Earth should anyone be expected to believe that a giant microwave, which isn't even realistic, would be any more skimp than shaking? You hold unrealistic expectations for the collaborators if you expect them to watch over your pathetic PR to ensure that no foul play is occurring.

I play sec borg regularly, and I roam around the station looking for harm and stopping it like superman, but if there's no harm I'm here to assist you.
I remember stumbling in on a group of cultists with runes on the floor, they all just stood there staring at me, think one said "Oh", I just asked if they needed any assistance, and told them to have a safe day. I didn't stuncuff them, I didn't blare CULT over comms, I didn't warn the AI, I kept right on rolling.
That's how a borg is supposed to operate. Too many silicons would out them and attack them, and FAR too many would just hang around the area and spying on them, waiting for them to slip up so you can GET THEM VALIDS.
Cyyrdven is a great example of this. If Yred figures out you're an antag, expect to see Cyyrdven in every room you walk into for the rest of the round. That kind of behavior forces antags to go quiet, and thats what turns fun rounds into extended rounds.
