While Rorona has better features I think the game's structure is much more linear and it hurts the replay value. Totori is much more open which I really liked and was surprised to see from the series, it's pretty much an open-world RPG in gameplay and that's not something you see often in JRPGs. Meruru was just like the in-between that didn't do anything really impressive to me and I thought the new characters and the story in general were much less interesting. Also I didn't like Rorona being turned into a kid, while loli Rorona was pretty cute I still much more enjoyed the older Rorona from Totori. Even tough I got the plat for Totori, I can see myself replaying it in the future because the game is so open and I'd want to see Totori, Rorona and the others again, while I don't see myself replaying Rorona (Too restrictive) or Meruru (Don't care about most of the characters except the returning ones). Finally Astrid is worst girl and Totori is the only game that doesn't feature her which gives it more point to me.

That's another thing for me - I prefer the more restrictive nature of things. I'm surprised I liked Totori at all considering I don't really like open world games. I can see why someone would find Rorona restrictive, though. Meanwhile, I think Meruru struck a palatable balance between the two so gameplay wise I favored it the most, though you do have a point with the characters. I really like Hanna and Keina has her cute moments but beyond them the new cast wasn't as good as the other 2 games.
