When you get VAC'd in any Source Game (CSGO, TF2, etc), you lose any items that you did not purchase through the Mann Co. Store in your TF2 inventory. Because of this, it encouraged those who were hacking to use a new account so nothing of value was lost. However, since lmaobox was undetected for the longest time, people got cocky and decided to put it on their main accounts.
In addition, you cannot trade items from that game to other people.
Sometimes there's a delay in how VAC bans people, which means that it could take a couple minutes to a couple days, that's why if you see a person hacking on a server and he doesn't get kicked instantly. There's probably gonna be more waves of bans over the course of the week/month.
