Minecraft for Windows 10 beta released, coded in C++.
FyberOptic ported the modloader "Meddle" to 1.9 snapshots.
1.9 has been released, and it's buggy as all hell. Contains The End revamp, beets, YMMV new combat, witch sounds and other features. Check the wiki for more info.
Team Cofh anounced that 1.8.9 modding is garbage https://twitter.com/TeamCoFH/status/709535352369909760 and that they won't be continuing. But they went ahead and started porting anyways so a fuss for nothing.

In fact, I found a little RR setup in my screenshots folder.

The barrels and diamond chests are all RR sorting variants. Anything piped into the chests is automatically sorted into the barrels.

I shotgunned my first RFtools dimension here, and wound up with a world covered in a never-ending ocean of IC2 coolant.
Would've been nice if it was playable. It dragged my game to a stop. Suffice it to say I don't shotgun dims anymore.

I honestly believe that if they had a solid idea of where they wanted to take the game from the beginning it would have turned out better than it did. It's a fucking cool one too, it just lacks some config options and some minor compatibility/bug fixes.
The ledge grab doesn't work on stairs/slabs, and will slide all over the place if you have squake (because no friction lol). Gears of war tier screenshake I wish I could disable though.
