Once upon a time, there was a stupid yet good goy who felt he was bored with his current catalog of games. He decided it would be a good idea to play an MMO, yet was tired of the humdrum medieval fantasy setting so he looked into a somewhat popular game called Warframe. After creating his account and downloading the game, he could see what all the fuss was about. The sheer mobility right off the bat, the powers, the latex skintight armor, the sheer fun of being able to mow down crowds effortlessly, it was great.
The only thing that really bothered him, other than the default bloom settings was that the developers had the audacity to offer pretty in game items for $200. This was the same thing that had turned him off of another well known space game with lots of AA and Bloom: Star Citizen.
So the good goy played for a day and had fun with the free to play things that the game offered, but the next day he logged back in and got a deal for 75% off ALL purchases! What great luck! He could spend only $50 on play money and some easily obtained items which was considered a $200 value! So he purchased the most expensive pack and went along happily with his purchase.

The Proc is, at the same time, extremely good and really nothing special, depending on the situation. Vaylok is hella accessible (so is LexP, for now), and I think it's a better choice for a new guy. And Vaylok's my favorite gun, so obvious bias there.

As a new player, my warmest recommendation is that you get a (Hek(MR4), Tonkor(MR5), SomaP(MR6)); (VaykorMarelok(MR6)), (BrokenWar(MR3?)).
Potato all of these, expend Forma into the Tonkor, and you're golden; any other gun will be, more or less, a personal joy. The Tonk's kinda like a work gun; it gets shit done in every situation. After you're done with the Tonk, and sick of it, you're gonna be good enough to make useable guns; consider the Tonk like training wheels.

The Hek and the Vaykor Hek have similar damage per shot when they are properly built, but the Vaykor Hek has an 8 shot magazine vs. the Hek's 4 makes all the difference in the long run.

No problem. Keep in mind however, that Primed Ravage is what makes the Vaykor Hek much better per reload. If you can't get primed ravage, Hek and Vaykor Hek are pretty much equal in DPS, but the Hek would do a lot more per shot meaning you can one shot problem mobs like Ancients or Heavies and the Vayhek might need 2.I'd still prefer the Vaykor Hek though because I hate reloading and Syndicate procs are nice.

Slap a Bodycount for more combo counters + damage, CovertLeth for extra damage, Fury or Quickening there. Not sure about damage mods or something, but it's cosmetically pleasing, and can be equipped on Ash well. You don't even need to potato it.

Everything dies in 1 hit if im shooting somewhat accurately. And anything that doesnt die in 1 hit, is likely taller than my warframe as im aiming up into its face for a second shot. in that case punch through will have me hitting the ceiling. havent seen a reason to add punch through yet.
