I have made goblin parties before. Gobbo pawns are few and far between, but know that if someone finds your pawn you've got a permanent slot in their party. Same for any kind of party that goes even slightly outside the "tall dark and handsome" norm. I once kept a dwarf pawn in my party when I was 150 levels above him, and only stopped because he eventually died and his creator had deleted him.

Killing trash mobs. DP is linked to exp but it's a flat gain from every individual enemy killed/quests so you gain it at a different rate then EXP which fluctuates in value depending on the monster.
In alot of areas in Gransys, Goblins and Wolves will spawn infinitely at night. A good spot is the Healing Spring in Southern Gransys.
In post-game is where DP farming becomes 100x easier, as there is an exploit you can use, and items such as the Perseverance Ring and Asura Armor become easily available which both increase your DP gain.
For experienced players, they maximise DP in their playthrough by doing an early (Level 5) suicide run to Bitterblack Isle to get the Perseverance Ring, rollover their game using the Hard Mode exploit, then do it until they have four rings. Then they absolutely pump the fuck out of their vocation ranks by simply playing normally, don't even need to grind.

You're expected to do this, so no. Even if you "lose" one stat you value, you're probably getting something else equally valuable back. Most players like to get Fighter/Sorcerer/MA ranks because Sinew, Suasion and Grace are good quality of life augments that you don't need too much grinding to unlock.

Pirated the game since somehow it's already on KAT despite not being released.
Only played the intro so far but this is pretty great, it seems. Looks fantastic and runs well (at 60fps) at max settings. Could maybe use some .ini tweaks and I haven't tried it without DOF yet.
