That makes sense. I was pretty content with the game when I was playing through the Ruins. Toriel's fight was neat with constantly sparing. However, I wasn't hooked until the first dog. After that I just wound up enjoying the game immensely. Helps that the soundtrack's fucking amazing and it's been stuck in my head for a week.
