The JP market has professional chink rerollers who own thousands of accounts all maintained on scripts. A account with 1 5* is worth almost nothing. with 2 5* it is worth maybe 1000-1200 yen. Once you get into 3 5* it becomes around 2000-4000 yen.
The later into the game it goes the more the rerollers have a chance to roll a 5* on the account, so having a 5* ends up becoming worth less.
