I think the difference between /mkg/ and most players is we're older adults so we can understand better fashion sense. Even though most of us don't feel the need to accessorize we know when to recognize good usage of accessories or a general combination, which the top 3 of the fashion contest did. The rest had no accessories or just one or two typical ones, his included I think. They still all may have been better than what most people would do if AMB wasn't too lazy to keep doing contests for the English side.
As an abstract question: in a beauty contest, do you prefer that the winner be one who gains a plurality of votes (i.e. the most number of highest-preference votes) or one with the widest agreement that they are the among the best?
To make it easy to answer, consider this example. There are three contestants with the following amount of first-place preferences.
A - 42%
B - 36%
C - 22%
A has the most first-place preferences. But assume that those who voted C also preferred B to A, such that if they were asked to choose between A and B they would have chosen B. In that case B would have had 58% of the vote, a majority.
Would people prefer that A or B win?
Note: this has nothing to do with previous contests.

I've grown to like them, but I prefer more mature faces anyway. I'm really hoping they'll eventually get to a point where they start drawing varied faces almost as constantly as Fairy Doll, or at least a few more new faces in general.
I do agree though, one thing weirds me out about DG faces - the nose is literally one pixel. They look kinda noseless, which could be giving the uncanny vibe.
