All right, I'll explain my thoughts on the two points you believe Cu should have died.
The first, the clash with the chariot. I think the difference in our thinking is that you're looking at the number of his endurance, I was looking at Cu as a legend. One of his most famous feats is his own ability to continue onward even after taking fatal wounds. Further, when Gae Bolg killed one of Achilles' horses the striking power of his chariot was reduced. I concluded Cu would survive that exchange for those reasons.
The second moment, when he should have just been crushed by Kosmos, didn't happen the way it did because Achilles was unable to keep moving forward. Rather he was too shocked at the wound he received through his shield, and stopped out of that disbelief.
Those are my reasonings. I understand if you disagree with them but I promise I had no ulterior motives when I wrote this fanfiction.
