It should be mentioned that if you die in Challenge League hardcore you're moved to permanent Standard and not the corresponding Challenge League softcore, so you can't just see how far you can go in the HC League and keep playing the character in Softcore once you die, unless you want the permanent Standard economy.

The economy is inflated, but that doesn't really matter unless you're saving up to buy original mirror-tier gear to host mirroring services on that item yourself. Items are usually cheaper than you'd expect them to be until you get to the 20 exalt range and higher. Then it goes full retard. It wouldn't affect you if you play temp leagues because gear in the 20 exalt range is a hell of a lot better than what you'd find in these temp leagues for the same price.
It's actually a hell of a lot easier to get into than the temp leagues because of the abundance of above average items on the market. On the other hand, it's also difficult to get going as a new player by selling your drops because, well, they're going to be worthless for the most part.

They really should do something about stackable currency. Four tabs just isn't enough for all of the fusings, chaos, exalts, alchs, divines, and currency in general that you collect over the course of a temp league. The added damage on Sadima's touch gloves should make leveling a bit easier as well.

I really think conc is the way to go. Its still big enough if you have templar and witch aoe nodes to hit a pack in maps so.

only phys and chaos adds to the dot that deals 60% of the hit over 2 seconds with 3 passives worth of investment and the gem. and that becomes your main source of damage. vulnerability can become your offensive curse, if you want to use one. and enfeeble is just great

i mean why even play this over daiblo 3? all the advantages of a game like this turned out to be massive negatives that the community hates. diablo 3 looks and runs better at this point and doesn't delude you into thinking there's something more there when there really isn't. and at least you can play in a public group if you don't want to forever alone mode the entire time. i'd also say their network method is superior. diablo 3's grift/leaderboard is a better competitive meta than watching streamers and rmters win every league.
i mean i'm all for supporting our bros living the dream but poe has stagnated and even regressed. they caved into the casual wants and all the casuals want is for the game to be more like d3. poe is just a crappier version of d3 with a convoluted skill system and downgraded everything else.
d3 is poe's direct competition. ggg needs to start acting like it. poe was good because it offered something different but with every update it just feels like diablo 3: only worse

the mechanics in d3 are a joke but that's the point, they mechanics in poe are also a joke. 150% life minimum in every build and just grab the corresponding nodes to the main skill you will be spamming.
d3 has paragon points which is the same thing only there's no hard cap on them so you can keep pushing all season long. once somebody hits 100 in poe it's essentially over. for your inner or outer autist a d3 season never really has to end. you can keep pushing and pushing and maybe you get the perfect mob spawn and top the leaderboards. you don't have to worry about the other guy rmting or streamer handout his way to victory. you can actually compete, sorta.
the story? neither game has a good story, diablo 2 shits on both of them. diablo 2's fits the game pacing perfectly, stays out of the way and is high quality. poe story is some annoying factoid getting in your way by accidentally being clicked on. their lore is possibly the worst implementation in the history of a video game. diablo 3's lore books were better even i mean cmon

I am on a PC from 2010 and everything is maxed fine (760 though). The only thing that pisses me off is the horrible ram utilization making it so I can't run a VM as everything is packed into RAM.

yes it has taken about three weeks every single league ergo no time at all and unlike d3 where you never stop pushing for number 1 once somebody hits 100 in poe they won the race to the top. there's no end to the race to the top in d3 you could get the right mob spawn or find the perfect item and have the perfect run and push to the highest grift since grift levels are infinite.

They didn't fix everything. Tons wrong with the game still but it's absurdly better than the original game. Once you beat story mode you never have to again. You play in adventure mode which is essentially some fucking beautiful tilesets randomly spawning with random mobs. You can push the difficulty from nomal -> all the way to torment 10 to increase the difficulty, mob density and drops. Eventually you start getting keys for greater rifts which is a competitive mode where no items drop except off the rift guardian at the end. You try and complete the greater rift before time runs out and you get a reward of a legendary gem and an npc that upgrades your gems and some items.
I'm honestly kinda a noob to it all so somebody else probably explains it all better. Suffice to say the end game is nothing like the original D3 which was farming act 3 over again.

In D3, you can become number one at any point in the season because there's no hard cap, it's all about continuously pushing to a higher Grift level. I'm running ice crash with soul taker.
It gives me a link more, 22 mana at 0.30 attacks per second is way too much for me to sustain, mana is still an issue on cyclone and ice crash if you want to 6 link it.
I have it in a bringer of rain and I thought ''hmm might as well switch my build to axes for a while seeing there are only 4 weapons above 300 dps up''.
It gets outclassed though by 340 + dps weapons in my build but they are far more expensive. So soul taker is a good in between step.
I'm running ice crash in a bringer of rain so I have faster attacks ,phys damage, blind. Then for the other links I have cold penetration, weapon elemental damage and fortify which you can switch for added fire, which you can switch for increased AoE if you want to farm lower level areas faster (and lagg more).
I have a lot of attack speed I'm running it iron reflexes and went into the shadow and ranger tree. It's why mana is an actual issue and my build is unplayable without blood magic or a soul taker.
The reason why I went into so much attack speed is that I chill / stun quite a bit with the initial hit. Almost nothing hits me which is really nice.
I have at the moment 24.5k tooltip with fortify and cold penetration + hatred and herald of ash on, 33.9k with bloodrage and frenzy charges. I can still get 2 jewels for some more damage that will likely put me at 38-39k or so. I don't use power charges. I think its best to use enfeeble since I kill everything fast enough anyway.
I also have 47% block and 13k armor unflasked. I can switch around for grace and jade + iron flask if I need a lot of armor but 13k is enough for what I've done so far elemental damage is far scarier atm for my build, it only has 5.6k hp though which is low imo, I lack hp from talisman and shield (1700 evasion one), so normally you would have 6.2k hp using what I'm doing.

Start with no filter, and then you find yourself thinking "I wish I didn't need to see all these fucking act 2 normal bases" filter them out. When you find yourself thinking "it'd be nice if it was easier to see some specific ilevel bases" then make them more visible.
Then later on when you're thinking "my filter is a fucking mess" rewrite it once you know what you're doing.
