They have a chance of dropping from every boss regardless of the resource pool of the planet they are on. While it seems like we are the warframes themselves (since the Tenno speak to us even in solo missions and DE has said they want to maintain the "personality" of each frame), I feel you. physique is the obvious test case because you can immediately and readily see the effects, but it does in fact seem that these effects stack up for each member of the team using an aura + coaction drift (and presumably things like corrosive projection can ignore the "aura effectiveness" part while basically gaining +15% strength from your own aura, meaning you can do complete armor removal with only 3x corr proj, while things like rifle amp and steel charge will see the "doubling" of both aura strength and effectiveness on a given individual)
this all needs more testing, but there's also something odd that takes place regarding hosts (as is typical with >DE and >numbers) and aura effects - two players, each with physique and coaction drift equipped, will see different results on the total hp boost
as in the examples above, with base hp of 100, the host will see a gain of 47 hp while the clients will see a gain of 44 hp - it seems that only the host reaps the full effects (aura strength boost from both members, aura effectiveness boost on self from all squad auras) while clients will see aura the strength bonus but only have an apparent increase to "effectiveness" on one aura (whether it is their own or the host's is unclear, need to test more specifics and it may be dependent on network conditions and spawn states for players)

Because sorties are actually a decent way to earn some nice rewards. They're not especially gay because you have a brain and a slew of frames and weapons to trivialize anything DE throws at you, and thus they're basically a half-hour to hour long little thing you do.
Focus system is a work in progress though, no idea how ass it'll end up.
