Something born of the modern day can't be so much given life through belief. People are too jaded or something, they're not superstitious at all, they don't believe in things.
It was easier or at least possible to do a century or two back for certain reasons. It would be pretty damn impossible for even Alice to be given life in a sense, if not for the fact that it was basically the most famous fairy tail in existence. Meaning its a book that's shared and felt throughout the world, so its impact is nothing small. Thus the dreams that made it up, were nothing minuscule. Although even at that level she's still basically an E rank servant, or D rank.

The fact that Alice's soul was unbound, was the reason that even a non-magus like Alice could use her servant's abilities fully, despite not knowing magecraft at all. She needed the edge of being able to erode her soul, to be able to use her own servant's shit, but an actual magus would be able to employ it just fine generally.
If you're a decent or high tier magus, you can do this shit easier than Alice for sure.
