Patches and shit like IB and Trials happening occassionally should be enough to bring people back to the general. And sure, Bungie not handling these events optimally is somewhat to blame, but way too many players here specifically are being put off by the fake e-celeb shit that is quite honestly at this point 70-80% of what's being discussed.
And there is no real solution to it. Ban them ajd they evade it, which they think is hilarious and then brag about, which makes their followers dicks even harder and the cycle begins again. It's this weird desperation that comes from Anons wanting to be a part of the joke and the crazy grabs for attention that come from being a tripfag that people actually have opportunities to talk to in-game that come together to faciliatate an environment where off-topic posting literally does not stop. The anons who talk about "such and such's butt" or whatever think they're fitting in by shitposting, but all they're doing is driving away people that genuinely want to talk about and play the game.
It's times like these where I actually envy the moderation of other communities who step in and prevent stuff like this from happening. I know that feeling. I haven't raided with anybody here in a month and not touched HM since it came out. I'm on the cusp of 310 at the moment and waiting for the next Iron Banner so that I can hopefully get some 300+ boots and/or other 310+ gear that I need.
I still play the game and have some fun playing Crucible in bouts. It's weird, I was fine with the light system until HM dropped and then I suddenly lost all drive to even bother trying any more raids. The only thing I want is the Iron Banner helms on my three characters and the Titan raid helm. I don't have any drive to do challenge mode either. I kinda wish IB was a bi-weekly thing, rather than every month.
I think quite a few of the other boners still lurk, because I still see them online and occasionally on Destiny.

Run heroics with the appropriate glimmer consumable, and get ahold of the raid ghost for extra glimss when killing Taken. Also, trials ghosts are nice for those generate glimmer when killing x class perks. Racks up a surprising amount.

It means that if you have a weapon of the same impact, you will do the same damage to them as they would you, regardless of your level. You could be light 200 at level 20 and he'd do the same damage to you as if you were light 320 and level 40.
In advantages enabled playlists, like Trials of Osiris or Iron Banner, people who have a higher light level have a damage boost against you, and you'd have a damage nerf.

A combination of:
- You're missing shots
- You're hitting the body
- They're getting headshots
- You're using different weapons and the weapons they are using have more impact and therefore do more damage.
I've been messing around on the base game since a friend let me borrow it. I've already completed every mission and strike. The only thing I haven't done yet is Vault of Glass since I can't find anyone to run it with.
How much more content is added with all the expansions if I pick up the super ultimate legendary edition? Is it even worth it at this point?

I've had cases of shooting people in the fucking legs be a three shot kill and headshots not even registering. Likewise this is why sniper rifles are deadshots regardless of whether they're in the hands of a skilled player or a fucking retard.

If you don't have any DLC, there are probably as many story missions in the vanilla to complete, in all of the DLC combined, so potentially quite a fair bit.
The problem is that TTK basically wiped the relevance of all the Y1 stuff off the map, so you'd only really be running TTK stuff, which is about as long as the vanilla game.

Anyway, for the sake of >>123909843, I'll just say that normalised damage means that you do the same damage to everybody, regardless of their level. They could outlevel your or underlevel you, your handcanno would always do 86 damage to the head and 57 to the body.
Compare that to enabled playlists like Iron Banner or Trials of Osiris, and if you outlevel somebody, you could be doing 88+ to somebody's head if you outlevel them and 84 or less if they outlevel you, meaning that if you land as many shots at the same time, they'll do more damage.
