Jintello here. As Chairman of ASSGC (Association of Soccer Spirits General Clubs), I oversee all /ssg/ clubs and their management.
Since clubs have a maximum level of 50, they have a member cap of 30. As it currently stands, we currently have far too many clubs because slots are being opened (from level ups) at a faster rate than players are joining.
It is essential that inferior clubs be purged, so that their members can be assimilated in to the superior clubs. This is to ensure the smoothest process of filling up clubs.
I went through every ssg club and gathered data:

Once you get past the initial stuff, you realize this game has way more things to do than PAD does, and way more stamina to spend to play more often too.
The only two things PAD has over SS are better gatcha rates if not considering the scouting system, and slightly more "skillfull gameplay" but then again, you can just download a solver for that in PAD so there goes that.

Where do you get STable 4* players from on a "regular basis" besides crystal draws? Challenge mode stages drop them at like 0.2% chance right? And colisseum just drops 3* players.
Are the only sources crystal draw, scouting and trying to farm stages? Oh, I guess there's daily quests but those are pretty random.

That is an option, but it's a bit wasteful GP-wise.
Basically costs 240 GP to get one 5* compared to using 4* players. And the total cost for one ST would be 1200 GP compared to 500 GP using 4* players.
Pretty big numbers there, but I suppose it is one option. I mean, if you want to fully ST one player, you would need 100 level 20 2* units and 200 fodder units. That's.. a lot of units/exp.
