If you're on Myoko or Mogami with 203cm, get these skill points.
You can still shoot while remaining undetected but it'll be hard without the concealment skill, but don't rely on it.
I haven't heard of escorting destroyers but you're supposed to hide behind islands and shoot anyone you see.

CVs actually got nerfed. USN drop range at high tiers was increased, and IJN TB torps are now slower.
Not like it matters, since both nations can still outmaneuver cruisers and make unavoidable drops.
I had no idea of the credit income nerf. That explains why the CV population is still down even after the fighter skill bug was fixed.

It was actually intended to give DD's something useful to do. Before the patch, I'd rather go try to gib a battleship around an island than try to collect caps in my USN DD, because it was more profitable even on a defeat. Now it's more valuable to go around racing for caps the entire match, and hunting down the DD's that are trying the same thing on the other side.
BB's barely benefit from this, since they will collect one or two caps at most. As a player who plays BB's aggresively and pushes for objectives, I didn't notice much change in my XP income before and after the patch.
Cruisers also barely benefit from this, since they're too big and visible to stealth cap.

I also have to point outthat the notion of cruisers getting closer than max range at t7 or above is utterly ridiculous.
Islands can of course help, but unless they return cruiser survivability to alpha-levels, I'm not seein any cruisers getting up close and personal for torp runs.
Also, getting close to any DD with a functioning brain is not possible, the DD can simply turn away and run any time he wants.
On top of that, cruisers lose teh ability to easily dodge torps between t7 and t9. You will simply not see Yorcks or Ibukis charging in to kill a DD.

Other than the soviet DDs, the others cannot really run away because they have the same speed as cruisers.

And it makes a lot of sense to have detonations in a naval game. Naval combat actually has lots of luck involved: gun dispersion, ammorack detonations, unexpected banks of fog, etc .

This may be an arcade game, but a lot of people play this for the historical warships aspect. If you remove detonations, you'll have people complaining about the lack of Hood-vs-Bismarck moments.
And there are far more pressing balance issues. Detonations should really be the least of your worries.
When is it economical to use consumables in SO?
I'm asking in the sense of, in WoT it's a pure waste of money to use a fire extinguisher costing 3k in a sub-tier 5 battle because you just don't earn that much, and its pretty much mandatory at tier 6 and up because the cost is nothing compared to the stakes in a match.
