However, Fallout 1 just oozes that dark, gritty atmosphere. The future happens to be a grim place. Its probably the weakest build for the first 10 levels. You need to either have DR and HP out the ass (or power armor) or have enough burst damage to 1-2 shot raiders, otherwise you'll die in every fight on harder difficulties.

The railroad could have been really cool if it was made by robot/synths for robots/synths. Sort of like 01 from the matrix, where robots all congregate away from the enslavement and oppression of human society and try to live as their own with their own free will.
Sure, they could probably end up fucking over humanity if humanity tries to fuck over them, but that only happened because humanity rejected their peace and started a war they couldn't win. But it would make the railroad 100x better imo, they could probably even end up hacking and taking over the institute then using it more efficiently.

1) Electronic lock pick. Where did they go?
2) Taking settlers as companions - 20 or more people in a small army. And they're not essential
3) A tracker syringe - so you can track a specific unit on the map.
4) A portable radio- call your companions in the field
5) A dog jetpack. Why not?
6) The ability to ride Brahmin, Stags, Yoa, & tame deathclaws - I'm assuming that you can simply copy skyrim's animations
7) better armor slots with less clipping.
8) The ability to take Quest Items from your inventory - probably a bug

Power creep pretty much mandates that they gotta introduce new power armors eventually, T-60 really should be BoS version of APA i.e. post-war model though. I guess they could always write it off as being a super rare prototype armor that hadn't made it to mass deployment by the time the bombs dropped, and BoS recovered them from somewhere, or there was a factory in the Commonwealth or some shit, it's a bit sketchy though. All new PA should be post-war.

Every single play through, woo you pick "no" or "sarcasm" and everyone just plays along as in your last play though where you just said "yes sure" The illusion of choice is bullshit and gets boring fast.
