They're "the best" in the sense that they're the largest. Still with a large server comes the same issues with overcrowding like being unable to ever play launch week or competing with a thousand other people for every single rare item or mob.
With the consolidation of CRZ and Cross Realm AH/Groups realm matters less and less. That also means that even playing on bumfuck nowhere results in you being invaded by a thousand players from Illidan/Sageras so you're fucked there.
So really the only thing that matters on realm is your preference to PVP/PVE/RP and joining a guild.

Vol'jin didn't matter as Warchief because Legion removes him, nobody else got character advancement, and outside of Gul'dan WoD has been the most self contained expansion yet and there's literally no reason for having an alt Gul'dan. They could have revived ours and if you tell me that's stupid just remember the Gul'dan in Legion is a time traveling space wizard who is also the Hulk now.
Garrisons were failed thing. It's nice for gold but it failed completely and class halls look to have less of an impact than garrisons ever did so them continuing that is continuing a flawed system.
There's one thing mechanically I liked in WoD and that was the treasure system... which was really just the Timeless Isle one so that doesn't count.

Idk there were flaws, like if you didn't perfectly corral all the mobs and frost nova them all without getting hit (mana shield was useless) you could do it all the way to 60. I spent a few weeks perfecting it after my warrior got banned and fucking loved the grind. Never saw many other mages out there doing it though so I could be alone here. It wasn't easy.

I'm not sure what you don't get. You kick and punch stuff using celestial techniques (equivalent to styles in martial arts) and then you use life energy (chi) to do finishers

I dont think it was because of Alliance crying. Dont get me wrong Alliance did shed alot of tears, but lets be real Blizz hasnt listened to Alliance Input since before Cataclysm.
I think it was more because hordies couldnt deal with actually having to be the "evil" faction: Dropping bombs on civilians/druids, ethnically cleansing Glineas, Southshore and Western Plaguelands, digging up Azshara and STILL wanting to take over Ashenvale and Darkshore. etc.
I agree they should have kept Garrosh the badass noble warrior that he was for most of Cataclysm but MEH. We cant have nice things and Sylvanas has boobs so shes in, hes out.

The class halls make zero fucking sense when you consider that they're supposed to be something that encompasses what a class is across all the ways you interpret it (well within reason).
Valhalla almost works because a noble warrior hall is fine for Fury because at the end of the day fury going all out to die a glorious death full of rage fits in well enough.
Then you have the paladin which works for everyone except Tauren because guess what they're not paladins.
Priests are somehow totally cool with old god spriests having a little corner of madness.
The hunter lodge only works as a hunter being a trapper and hunters who are rangers or animal companion wildmen (as they now are with survival) don't fit there.
The sewer doesn't work because they're turning combat in a rogueish outlaw pirate who would not be okay with an actual sewer hideout.
The only ones that truly work are the ones in which every spec is the exact same fucking thing. Mages are all nerd magic men and warlocks are all nerd fel magic men so a nerd library/demon island works across all specs.
