So it seems blood gems disappearing in the DLC is a thing. I put all in my storage box and went into the optional part of the fisher village, where you get the Beast Hide Garb.
I picked up three gems(radial, waning, waning), but when I checked my inventory at the end, I only had the circular gem.
I'll go into the cave next because that should give a far bigger sample, but someone with higher item discovery should have a better chance of getting any usable data.

The Beast Cutter's stat requirements changed from 15/15 to 11/9 between the demo and the real release, so you can leave skill at base for Cruel Fate.
Repeating Pistol with minimum bloodtinge investment is pretty bad, don't do it. Just leave it at 5 and go with the normal pistol.
Consider using "saw" weapons like the Saw Cleaver, Saw Spear, Threaded Cane, and Whirligig Saw, since they get a damage bonus against giant beasts like Watchdog of the Old Lords and Amelia. Farm the bonewagon enemies in post-Rom Yahargul and depth 5 CFR dungeons for beasthunter gems.

Without higher BT there's no point investing in BT at all as you wont be doing any damage with your gun anyway, same for repeater pistol: may as well use normal pistol as it will just be for parries anyway. Loch shield is arcane shield so you don't need it at all for hunting beasts, I would put fist of gratia there.
Other than that you got two serrated weapons which is good, and the stat spread is fine too. Just need to think about your left hand a bit more

Last I checked, if the Hunter rune goes hostile the other player's title will always read as "Vileblood", and to them yours says "Hunter of Hunters". I don't think I've ever seen a title that says "Blood-addled Hunter", even though the message that pops up when you're spawning says it.

Make the build you have planned then experiment with putting the final 3 points on skill or strength and see which one gives you the most return for your weapons, I would guess almost certainly skill at that point. Early game pump vit and str

Saif is mostly a skill weapon, and your stat spread is all strength. If you want to use it, you'd have to either switch your stats around or farm CFR depth 5 headless Bloodletting Beast for abyssal heavy gems. Are you sure you want to do that? I'm also pretty sure it doesn't get the serration bonus against giant beasts.
Speaking of skill, there is no weapon in the game that requires 15. Is there some other reason you have that number?

beastcutter is a quality weapon so SKL to 25 is better than STR 25+. and saif outright favors SKL, so SKL to 25 is very valuable. this is assuming these are the two weapons you want to use; they're both quality weapons and expect 25 SKL

Love it, it made the whole game a lot more vibrant, the new enemies and weapons are crazy and anime, and yet somehow it still adds up to a coherent package along with the main game. Whereas I thought DaS DLC was more of the same which was excellent, and DaS2 DLC was great and so basically saved the game, I think this one actively adds, and yes, 'expands' the main game. But like truly expands it, more than just adding new levels and weapons, it's made the scope of the game a lot wider. Another DLC triumph for the From lads

With 50 arcane, BoM's total arcane damage is 95. And LHB can only ever be one or the other, not both. So, no.
Skill by itself is perfectly fine though, and with 10 bloodtinge you can use both Reiterpallasch and the new Bowblade.

Your level doesnt matter THAT much. Make sure you have at least a +6 weapons with 20 main stats. Some decent gems from the Brain Trusts in Mensis help too.

Abhorrent beast is technically in the main game, but not as a boss. If you're going to count him, add Beast-Possessed Soul to that list.
There's also Undead Giant, Keeper of the Old Lords, and maybe one or two more I can't immediately recall. Some of the base enemies that become bosses get new attacks they didn't have before, like pigs getting an instant charge and backwards kick.
Orphan of kos is pretty easy with the bowblade, but I don't see how this guy would even be possible with a melee build holy shit

pick a lacerating weapon, stay in front of it, bait the bites and smack it's head. dodge the bark and charge but stay close enough so it keeps trying to bite you after that. Takes long but is safe. Fool and Poorman gems are a real thing, yes, but I'm talking about the ones dropped by the snail ladies in the DLC. When you pick them up, they read as rarity 1 Fool/Poorman gems. But when you look at your inventory, all of those Fool/Poorman gems are absent.

You can get 22.9% phys and bolt gems of the lightning guys, both radial and triangular. Any other dropped gems in the fishing hamlet just disappear.
Chalice gems are way better, but it's zero effort to run down the first shortcut and kill the four guys standing there.

Gehrman's title is the first hunter, the beast curse didn't start until after the Old Hunter's fucked fishing village's shit up, Eileen's gear describes the hunter of hunter's as being from a foreign land, and Gascoigne has the father title which his gear plainly states is from a foreign land as well. Henryk's title is "the old hunter", and he's summonable as such through the Old Hunter bell.

When we saw the promo pic of Ludwig I was so impressed, he's the perfect mix of hideous monstrosity and humanity, there's real expression in the human part of his face. Well I always thought of the nightmares as sort of like the giant memories in ds2. So I thought they were stupid time travel bullshit that didn't matter at all. And the cleric beast and ludwig boss look kinda similar so I thought you went back in time or went in a nightmare or some shit, fought him, but you didn't actually fight him since it's a nightmare and it isn't real (again coming from ds2 giant memory logic since I haven't played this game yet) so in reality he was actually surviving forever and then became cleric beast. Don't do Root Chalice's (yet).
They are the procedurally generated ones which are only for farming items.
If you want all trophies you only need to do the Layer 5 Pthumeru, but it requires material from Ailing Loran and either Lower Loran or Isz to reach it.
You should also find the Beast Claws and the Workshop Haze Extractor on your way, and if you bother doing Hintertombs (100% unesisary for Platnium or high end gems) you'll get a set of cloths.
If you want good gems then you do Root Chalice's that are Layer 5 and have all the additional rites for maximum difficulty and maximum quality of loot.

Petrolpenny was a Father for a foreign religion, and because a Hunter out of necessity. Dude had a family to protect. He's too recent to be taught by Gehrman, and in fact Henryk might also be too recent. Remember, Gehrman was involved with the very beginnings of literally everything. The player isn't taught by Gehrman either, other than passing advice.
