My main problem is that "hard" warframe missions are just a numbers game. Having to play tactically would be great.
If it were up to me, I'd identify several warframe roles, adjust frames to exemplify those roles, and design missions with the assumption you have several of these. For instance:

>Examples: Chroma, Rhino, Valkyr
>Team Role: Taking enemy fire, holding positions and choke points without needing to retreat
>Assassin
>Examples: Loki, Limbo
>Team Role: Sneaking past the bulk of the enemy forces while the tank has them occupied and taking out commanders/exilus units. Maybe add a mechanic where if a commander is killed the rest of the enemy squad panics because the chain of command is disrupted
>Fire Team/Soldier (needs a better name)
>Examples: Mesa, Mirage, Excalibur
>Team Role: Mopping up large numbers of weaker units. Excels at taking out the remainder of a squad after the Assassin has removed the commander

Ember's Fireblast can be tweaked a little to create better killzones, maybe instead of the relatively small ring of fire, it leaves a larger ring and inflicts the fire proc on the enemies in the ring.
