He does decent as a poke mid in a siege comp; he's like Jayce minus the ridiculous burst in his melee form but with fairly oppressive snipes on a moderately low cd
His teamfighting really isn't great though because the only way he stays relevant lategame is by building attack speed/crit which means he's piss easy to focus. The gimmick around this is to put him mid and build around his Q like I said earlier but then his teamfight is still shit because you have low attack speed, no reliable steroid and it's SHIT to have a carry whose only real source of damage is on a 5 sec cd lategame.
His passive is also pretty awful since it really only helps you win teamfights you're already winning

-for beginners, I recommend having more thickness on the outer lines compared to the inner detail lines, this prevents your drawing from looking too flat (pic related)

If you have the patience for me to look up the relevant Red posts I can, but waaaaaaay back in 2011 when Riot first started doing VU's they said that Poppy's in game art was extremely poor quality, and that she was one of their primary candidates for a VU. Since then we've had multiple splashes for Lulu, Battle Regalia Poppy, and the Tristana VU to give us a clearer idea of what yordles actually looked like. This is what all the fanart that you say was wrong was based upon.
