I just skimmed the story when I looked at it, but I think the child ended up as half-elf, half human. They didn't actually show the baby, but by in the end scene she was already pregnant again, so no problems with birth or anything.

I think Norn titles are generally non-complex. As long as you know how Japanese grammar works and the more common word suffixes, you should be fine. They work with text hookers so if you find kanji or words that you don't recognize, you can use one of those to catch it and look up its meaning.
As for recommendations, it's largely up to what sort of heroine you like; if the girl looks like a warrior, she's a strong woman. If she has animal ears, she's probably some sort of spirit. If she has pointy ears, she's an elf. Etc. etc. That's about all that matters, since the hentai content is usually all the same and very vanilla.
You can check the vndb or getchu for all of their titles and what each heroine looks like. They recently changed their website, so a lot of the older titles no longer have a webpage.

I said earlier that my favourite was Sei Shoujo, and if you held me at gunpoint I'd say Sei has better art and production values, but sweet Jesus Kangoku Senkan 3 is just plain hotter in ways I struggle to describe. There's no complex 14 scene corruption, so it doesn't reach the "literary" height of Sei Shoujo, but KS3 nevertheless hits hard from the very beginning, great character designs, great scenes, just... wow. I even quite enjoyed the plot prologue. KS3 gets a 10/10 from me, with no trace of irony or sarcasm.

KS3 is one of Lilith's best works. Literally the only flaw that I can think of is that there's not enough Lieri, but Beatrice more than makes up for it. I'd still say that TA3 or TY2 are better, but it's still a fuckin' amazing piece of porn.
