Not at all. It gives you 3 trees (except maybe Scion) to further modify your character on the grand scheme. Each tree has 6 points to spend (if the whole 2 points per difficulty is the only source of points) which is enough for any 4 point path and 1 2 point path on one of the circles.
It's some big shit and I like it.A D3 is still running the same skills, no variety, with the same runes, no variety, until death do they part.

They get negative resistances anyway because every single Elemental build runs Pen by default. Meaning every crit puts them at -40%, and thats pre cursing. If you have a Curse Aura they are like -90%.
