The FFXII cast was so weirdly designed. They all looked like normal people (and the main cast is all blonde!) but they have such weird clothing. Aoe or really well honed abilities. If the barriers keep using their own aoe shit, you have no choice but to restart the fight but you can actually get by with just a RW for healing as long as you can nullify most of the damage from the first phase. You don't even need shit like Valefor or Meteor: Ruinga and Ifrit with the rest of the party spreading out single target damage evenly between the barriers was enough to take them down in a timely fashion. Chains of Promathia and Wings of the Goddess are the best 2 storylines. They're also the longest. CoP takes you to some of the most beautiful and interesting zones in the game and has a great finale. WotG is the longer of the two and has basically 2 storylines in one: the main storyline and a set of quests with a story for the nation you Ally with. I personally did the Sandoria storyline for the quests and loved it. The main storyline thrusts you into the middle of the war that defines the current era of Vana'diel.

The mini-map is the FFXIDB plugin in Windower. You can now set the game to borderless window natively so you only need Windower if you're interested in the niche functions of whatever addons/plugins it offers. At the basic level it means you can just type in truncated spells ("/fire5" instead of "/ma "Fire V" <t>", "/mea" instead of "/ma "Teleport - Mea" <me>", "/ichi" or "/ni" for Utsusemi, "/cX" for cure tiers), as well as truncated party names at a minimum of three letters. If you have enough gil, enough storage, and lucky enough to pull something off the first time.
Getting crests for the one of the level cap quest took forever. It takes like 5 minutes to walk through all the areas where the crests are, and I probably took me 20 tries just to get one crest because you have to take sneak off to get through a door and grab the crest without aggro a room full of 75+ monsters.
In Davoi, you had to do the same thing to get through a barrier and then visit all the pools. And Oztroja you have to go through a password puzzle every time, and touch 4 levels to get through a door without aggroing. That prism powder ain't cheap.
Doing the summoner battles. Idk how many tries it took to get Ramuh. I haven't gotten any of the others yet. Finding the cloister of Fire for the first time *twitch*, god I hate navigating the jungle, and then the volcano with the firewalls and the Bombs and the one way ledges...

The reason those banners aren't translated is probably because our celebration banners won't be identical to what Japan got. What are the best trusts I can use while leveling? Preferably ones that I can get without too much trouble too. I mostly want a good tank that can hold aggro and keep the enemy still so I don't spend so much time chasing it while they juggle aggro. DNC is great for soloing things. Also one of the best melee DDs currently, when you get it geared to a decent level.
GEO is good because it's the single most powerful support job in the game and, as such, is pretty much required in any group - PUG or otherwise. They're also serviceable nukers if you get the spells and gear for it (although still far behind BLM in terms of pure magical damage).

It's pretty much copy and paste after the initial install they give you. Just make sure you've got the right directories which should be easy.
The reason why native patching is long is because the PlayOnline server is notoriously slow. Thankfully we have a choice to manually download them due to others work.

Trusts are sorted by type now with Tanks at the top. Gessho is pretty great as a Tank. Apururu is best healer, Kupofried (Wyrmking Event on right now) gives a 20% boost to XP gains, Shantotto II from logins is a pretty great Black Mage, Koru-Maru for Red Mage boosting.
End game-wise Arciela II & Iroha II have fantastic synergy.

/WAR when you're the main DD in groups, /NIN for things that shadows can protect against, /RUN for when there's a lot of magical damage going out. These are useful on any melee job really.
You can also level /THF for farming, but it is much more efficient to go THF/DNC instead.

Right now it's not great - suffers from the same accuracy and TP gain issues as the other 2-handed DDs. However the latest patch added some armor sets that can have ridiculous amounts of accuracy on them and the coming REM weapon update can also make them more competitive.

Well that was boring and disappointing. I'm sure Zidane could have a way more unique fighting style other than "generic jumps and dagger attacks".
Zidane even outgrows daggers in his own game. Dissidia is doing an awful job at capturing the characters, making Zidane look like a prepubescent monkey girl.
All this push for ffxi has made me want to sub. Can I get to the playonline screen on ps2 if I plugged it in? I have no idea what my login/pw were.
I'll buy it for pc but if I have to start over its not worth it.
