RB1's difficulty curve is abit odd. The earlier boss fights suffer from several sudden difficulty spikes. You can win without grinding, technically, but that requires that you know how to exploit the combat system (Read: Buffs and items)

The Neptunia anime is pretty meh. It only really works if you already know the characters beforehand, it doesn't do a very good job of introducing them to you. The serious scenes also kinda suck, apart from being a subpar rehash of Mk2 and V's plots, it doesn't do a good job of executing them.
