The nerf is pretty significant, I got hit by a half charged shieldbreaker from Lucina and I still had a ton of shield left.

He isn't particularly rewarded for either of them. Unless you're at 160% and can be killed by upthrow there's absolutely no reason to be scared of being grabbed my Marth or Lucina, they only do 3-4% and there's no followups.
You know how in Melee if Marth can't finish his opponent early he ends up smacking his opponent with single hits that don't lead in to anything else? Smash 4 Marth is like that, but from 0%.
As people are getting better at their characters and pulling off 30+% combos Marth is getting even further left behind.

Marth moves are too slow and laggy for him to really pressure shields all that well, nerfing Shieldbreaker was completely unnecessary, I get the rationality behind it, it was just unnecessary. DK's side B got nerfed too, but Donkey Kong actually has good options against shield, Marth doesn't.
