But obviously attributing failure to yourself is the last thing most people consider, as it feels better to blame external sources like luck or faction imbalances. There's much more strategy involved in this game & the devs actually give a shit about balance. I think most Hearthheads would appreciate that. Especially the ones that are "skill capped", and know that HS is too RNG driven to be a viable competitive game.

Vanar is dogshit beyond rank 5. It's average beyond 10. It's actually fairly strong up to 10 because of how fast and cost effective its cards are.

An easy indicator is if you're able to get close to rank 15 with a starter deck. If you can't even do that, you're just plain bad and should go figure out the tutorials.

I'm rank 16 atm, mostly playing lyonar. It's not exactly difficult, just got ironcliffe guardian, seems a bit op, makes it even easier.
But i also like playing around the other decks, and the only one that's really underwhelming is vanar, just can't seem to make it work with what i have.
I should note that i started playing a couple of days ago, just finished all the tutorial missions, opened a couple orbs, but don't have a lot of cards.

Healyonars the way to go. I suggest visiting the official duelyst lyonar forums for deck list so you have an idea of what you want to build towards. Just look for ones labelled "s tier or diamond+"
This is my last post because this game is dead and a mate is going to give me his HS account with all cards. I was waiting all week to just sit down and try some gauntlet but I quickly realized why I had taken a break: Magmar and Lyonar ruin arena with their global nukes. In fact most of the shit on this game is over the top with little room for positioning because of over the top effects, even an RNGfest like HS is more fun if you just wanna play BS effects and don't even get me started on the music that forces me to mute the game after 1-2 games.
Sorry bros but I couldn't even make it to Steam release. Maybe I'll check back someday but getting legend on HS and farming arena takes priority.
