Hey cutiepies. Just one FINAL reminder that tonight is a very special night and a very special Ghost Hours. I'll be playing the Beta version of Five Nights of Screaming Orgasms (the version CDF, Snax, and I attempted before the project was revamped and restarted) and afterwards will try and assemble an interview/guest stream with either Snax, Shad, or Mizu to talk a bit about the new project as well. We don't have much to show for FNOSO 2.0 yet obviously besides concept art, but that'll be the first portion.
The SECOND portion will be me playing the first dungeon (that's almost complete) and first boss fight of Final FNAFtasy to get a simple taste of what you'll be looking at. I may force whoever I interview with FNOSO to stick around to help voice act or something. I'm VERY excited to show what I have of FNAFtasy done so far, it's my first time working with RPG maker in eight years, and I'm super stoked for that.

I've recently been thinking that if we got more grim FNAF games, we'd probably just be waiting to see how much more twisted Scott could make the animatronics look since the horror factor has been basically non existent since FNAF2. Hows about the artists of this board try to make the FNAF bots look more fucked up? Not limited to creepiness, of course, just try to push the the designs even further from FNAF4's super-flanderization of their body horror.
I was thinking of redesigning unhinged-jaw Chica to just be a skeleton-like Xenomorph looking beast under what seems to be the skin of the intentionally cutesy Chica, with obviously fake eyeballs on the top and real eyes on the sides of the fleshy endoskeleton jaw.

It probably has to do with 4's gameplay, which is a true successor to the other games but at the cost of barely seeing the Nightmares at all. I liked the idea of Freddy with mini freddy's crawling around inside, but we only see him for three seconds in the jumpscare animation.

I agree that we don't see much of the Nightmare Animatronics in-game, but that also works fine with what they are. Nightmares lurk in the shadows, hiding and waiting. They're not trying to suit someone, they're torturing the kid with anxiety and fear until they decide and get the opportunity to frighten the kid to death.

They are literally covered head-to-toe in teeth, spikes and drill bits in a way that contrasts to how the bots looked in all the previous games where they were spooky due to how they approached the uncanny valley. I'm honestly not too bothered by their appearance in FNAF 4 because I thought they made sense as exaggerated figments of a traumatized child's imagination, but they were considered to the edgiest things so far in the series back before we all knew the context, and truth be told anywhere outside the context they're still kind of edgy in that sense that they look like somebody tried way too hard to make them overtly threatening in a way that cancels itself out and they all look silly. I can't argue with that because I agree, as the setting and design play a role. What I meant originally was that while the Nightmare characters could be argued to not be edgy within their own game where the context justifies their existence, anywhere else they're discussed they are edgy in comparison and by default to the bots from the first two games and arguably Springtrap too.

Because back when I first started post art here (and a few people had the same sentiment back in my horse days but we don't talk about the dark times) a good amount of people really liked that I kept the construction lines. They said they really liked how they could see how I build my drawings first, the structure of them, so I kept them faint.

FNAF 4 is a piece of shit in every aspect. The animatronics all have over-the-top, 2spooky4u designs that completely defeat the purpose of the horror, the gameplay is akin to one of those old "turn up the volume to hear the ghost ;)" screamer videos, and by god, the story is such a terrible, incomprehensible, contradictory, clusterfuck that it's obvious the game only exists to squeeze out whatever pennies were left in the franchise.
I'm sorry, but I had to get that off my chest. I hate this game so much, it took a big shit all over everything the series had built up to at that point.

Personally, I think FNAF4 is just under FNAF1 in quality. Maybe it does take a shit on what had been built up in the prior games, but I don't really care since the lore built up in FNAF2 and FNAF3 is shit.

Don't hate him for it, even he fucking realized what it meant when he came up with it, I remember vividly he fucking wanted to drop it the next thread after he came up with it, and i think the main reason he took a break wasn't for what some people might think was trend hopping.
He probably felt personally responsible he pushed a theory and made people fucking end creativity with interpretations. something he himself stated he liked about the general a few times if i remember correctly during the dry spell between 2 and 3.
People will parrot it because they don't understand, FNAF a lot of the time left it to interpretation. It's not the the theory was right, it was just presented from a mouth enough people knew.

Those things started that started that train of thought/theory, was during a matpat stream where he personally called out Scott beforehand publicly to present facts about the story, but if you watched the stream scott never showed up,who the fuck would hes a asshatbut at the same time the site was updated with those dumb images.

It's not like he's the only person who thought of it. Reddit his this whole chart linking things in the minigames to elements of the main games. Example: the shadows of Fredbear and Springs on-stage being the cause of Shadow Bonnie and Shadow/Purple Freddy.
It's the only thing that makes sense, imo. I can understand why people hate it, because it's an overused plot twist and reduces the game's horror into this little box. But I figured at some point before Scott was done he was going to invalidate the whole child murder spree elements.
