Mythril accumulates pretty damn fast, I never noticed before.
I had 40 by the end of orb fest and after having already completed hope's event. Between new dailies, dungeon update, login stuff, and the setzer event, I already am back up to 85 and I still have 13 max stamina worth of dungeons to complete.
What do you guys recommend using it on? I'm tempted to do a 50 on bartz since I have nothing for V gear but I'm also thinking about saving it for something cool. Wat do?

Personally, I'm not going to spend a large amount of mythril on anything until we know what's on the SSB celebration banners. Aside from getting shit for a realm with very little synergy, there isn't much to the Bartz banner, and the net V event isn't too far away and has a better selection of gear.

The demo was just a proof of concept alpha build with mocked up features, it wasn't really meant to be representative of the final game
Pretty much everything from the demo was modified and changed afterwards, like the demo has only auto weapon switching based on a combo structure of opener attack, mid attack and finisher, they replaced that with manual weapon switching with 4 weapons mapped to the Dpad that you switch on the fly, and you can set up each weapon to be either all opening attacks, all finishers, all mid attacks if you want so you have actual 1:1 input
Magic, aerial combat, full phantom sword system weren't even in the demo either
And the summon system, camp and level system, quest system, coop moves, parries, counter and descend and other shit were just mocked up versions and not the actual versions of them
Even the cutscenes and the car in the demo was changed because they changed the side you drive on, which means that entire scene with Cidney sending the guys off would be different since they'd now be on the other side
Same with a filter on the sky, if you notice in the demo the sky at day look very bright blue and sometimes overexposed with bright white patches
There was some filter in place in the demo which did that, but if you break out of the demo boundary the filter goes away, and in the PAX footage we can see they aren't using that demo filter anymore but instead the more natural looking sky with nice clouds
The preparation aspect of RK is getting a bit annoying when it comes to makin shit right for every encounter.
Too many menus and load times for the party, equipment, spells and record materia.

I understand it's non representative of the final version but most demos come really close to the final product. So It just has me worried. The gameplay feels totally different than it looks now.
My biggest issue right now is the targeting system ignoring your direction inputs while attacking, even when not target locked. If I'm 30 meters away just trying my moves the game's targeting aims at the nearest enemy. The super slidey movement with every attack that sucks noctis towards an enemy instead of doing the attack in place and letting the player take care of positioning is also 100% shit.
I feel that the skills could be a bit more cancellable. They are very static. The bro-op attacks are also like a QTE, which is personally why I would never use them. I would like to have a chance for a bro attack at the touch of a button while I can continue fighting.

Like warping to the right when I press left.
I'm so excited for the combat features, but I'm also super paranoia that they'll fuck it, because If they play it right we might have the best action game ever made.

If you remember back in TGS last year we saw Noctis and Ignis do X slash moves, that is part of a thing called Slashlink since we saw it again in the Progress Report at PAX this year, that wasn't in the demo but those are fluid coop moves that don't break up the gameflow like Crosslinks do, Slashlink also includes the whole Prompto jumping over Noctis thing or Noctis jumping over Gladio to attack, those are fluid coop things that happen through regular combat, I think it being called Slashlink means it is related to Slash/Vanquish state of attack
Phantom Sword/Armiger abilities work two ways
One is like a passive method so you can use them individually, like Warp, like Knightsguard, like Knightsshield, and the other is activating Phantom Sword/Armiger activation with Knightswords which does those things like Knightshield, Warps and Knightsguard automatically while it's activated
When Phantom Sword was activated there is also those quick warps that were more like dashes but are separate from actual Warps, those also seem to be things you would be able to use through normal combat when not activating Phantom Sword, the 2013 trailer and 2014 October gameplay showed that being used regularly especially in the aerial combat, implying that too is a passive ability that you can set up, so the way it's set up looks as if you can in fact use Phantom Sword abilities in regular combat as individual things, sort of like how KH abilities work, instead of it all happening only when you activate Phantom Sword/Armiger
Weapon techniques feel more like spells/specials than anything which is probably why you can't cancel them because they also consume MP
I think they just need to work on the lock on some more to give us more control over it

Tuesday is a must: black and power orbs are always needed. Apart from that, it depends entirely on what skills you're looking to get. The only ones I'm farming a full day's stamina for are Tuesday and Saturday because I need tons of black and non elemental orbs to hone my -ja spells and Breakdowns.

Learn the Card Mod ability, and the battle ability Card. The battle ability lets you turn enemies into cards when their HP is low. Also get all the mod abilities to turn items dropped by enemies into spells. Card Mod can give you rare items that turn into high level spells and boost your stats a lot early in the game. If you play the card game a lot and win some rare cards you can break the game early and pretty much remove all challenge, but that's optional. For your first time just play the game normally, but mod items to spells whenever you can and only draw when you need to. Do keep in mind there's a number of GFs that need to be drawn from bosses, though. Always try to pull those question marks.

Well, if you find the card game enjoyable enough to play a lot, and don't mind removing all the challenge on your first playthrough, go for it. Another big factor in breaking the game is the enemies scale with your level, so keep your level as low as possible while boosting your stats with high level spells. The Card ability also helps with that because enemies you defeat that way don't give experience.

Not at all bad. For a 130 boss all three forms have really low HP sp you won't need to focus as much on DPS; feel free to bring a mitigation RW and you should do pretty well.
And since Ultima Weapon is repeatable it's also one of the best Major Orb farming spots right now.

Rift of Recollection event came with SSB Celebration in Japan.
Assuming they don't change the banners, it's better to not pull on it unless there is a relic you really want since the banners are supposedly still featured Shared SB relics.

I mean RoR has some banners with a SSB, but they aren't on the same level as SSB celebration. They have 1 SSB weapon per banner which isn't any better than a typical event banner with a SSB (like organics). The SSB celebration banners 4-5 months from now are way better, 3 SSB on each banner. That's where the real fun is at.

What a wonderful ending to a 14 year old game. It truly brought a tear to me especially while the credits were rolling.
You can tell the devs of XI truly gave a shit about the players.
And I loved the final boss fight too. It wasn't really hard, but that wasn't the point. During the battle you got to see so many things that remind you of the years of playing and all that you as the player accomplished and the memories it shared.

Because Butz and Gilgamesh are good characters, V synergy isn't common and many of the more recent DU have had 5 dungeons.

I've been considering dropping XIV for XI. I have the game on PS2 from way back when but don't remember my POL user and password, not that it matters since that version has been shut down.
I have my problems with XIV but the game as a themepark is good for me cause I work 5 days a week. XI looks like you need to put a heap of time into it.
I think if 3.2 doesn't wow me I'll just stick to single player FF's.

Did the 3.1 patch not disappoint you enough, because it sure did for me.
I got with all the content in one day except for Thordian but I don't care since I don't do savage.
All I can say is at this point of XI you could play it casual and still enjoy the game. Least in XI ever single content is relevant so nothing really gets out dated and doesn't feel like you're doing the same thing over and over like what XIV is. Every six months your gear is outdated so it devalues all the work you did.
