There is no difference on ranked and unraked at your skill level, get back to ranked once you feel confident.
Read guides, watch lots of competitive dota, watch Aui_2000 replays analisis, practice with 5-10 heroes regullary and get decent with them, practice lots of last hit, at your bracket if you know how to farm you just win the games.

Buy a ward, tangos, salve, RoP, 2x branches at the start and use dive to leave fountain immediately. Rush and block their pull camp if you're on Dire, and tell your team to contest the safelane rune as 4 while you try to steal the bounty rune with dive.
Tranquils + Wand and maybe a Basilius are your laning items. Get a Veil and then a Midas (even if you get it around 20 mins it's worth it for the levels). From there items like Shiva's, Radiance, Refresher, Octarine are good, but you may need something like Greaves, Lotus Orb, Eul's, or BKB to survive silences, or other items to help your team

The purpose of his build currently is that he can farm the lanes risk free.
manta rad lets him farm 2 lanes or 3 and leave some of the jungle open so his team can use that space.
If you get a bfury you either
1) are afk in jungle making team farm lanes and be at risk,
2) you are farming lanes at a greater risk
The point of the hero is he can soak up all the hard farm and gets more gold for the effort.

That's what my idea behind it was- go Bfury, suffer less in the really early game (getting Perserverance first for a little bit of extra regen against harass heavy lineups), and then have a marginally worse mid game and a worse late game, but be able to farm stacks faster and start buying utility items so your team doesn't have to be centered around having a greaves carrier.

The radiance/manta build is greedy, and isn't good against teams with strong rune control, or who will gank you in the early game, or teams that will generally attempt to deny you farm.
In a game where early fighting is happening also, it makes more sense to go something like a Bfury with level 1 Chemical Rage for the DPS.

all the heroes you play depend on how good you are at farming while hitting your spells and are easily punished for mistakes
at you bracket all the way up to 4k you should pick heroes that punish positioning mistakes, gank easily and arent very item reliant

You could say that magus is a better puck, because they usually fill the same role and puck is so underpowered right now, but even tho they're two aggressive mid laners who are very similar, they can fill different niches. WW is a defensive support with a big disruptive ulti that relies heavily on that ulti to remain useful later on.
