I just want to add this for people who still deny it. Max has her true thoughts expressed through her nightmare. They are the voice overdubs, not what she "physically says" during the dream like when she was with Jefferson telling how she loves him.
When you go up to Warren's locker, she literally truly thinks he is capable of being so obsessive and creepy by saying straight up that it's creepy and takes a picture, as she says, "in case I need evidence." Yes the nightmare represents her fears she may or may not be over but she expresses her CURRENT thoughts about Warren during that segment.

Episode 4 was pretty much on par with the rest, just the end game (last quarter of the episode) was disappointing. Same for 5 really. "5" itself gets a lot of the hate because it was supposed to deliver all the revelations to the interesting mysteries, open questions and plots which it just didn't at all, mostly. And of course, included the lackluster ending stuff. The dark room stuff, nightmare sequence, being in town when the storm hits, even the character stories to some degree where all mostly satisfying (although not nearly as much as I hoped they'd be).

Alt-Universe as in the in-game AU or just any AU? In-game AU was neat, but I prefer just AU that doesn't follow the canon plot, just stays with the general setting and characterization of Max and Vicky like in the main timeline. Chloe just doesn't exist preferably, because it always gets weird and immersion-breaking when she's suddenly wingmaning or teasing Max for hooking up with a girl because canonically it admittedly just doesn't make a whole lot of sense that Max would end up with Victoria before Chloe, let alone that Chloe would be fine with that.

Ep 3 was definitely my favorite. Ep 4 was the most emotionally heavy-hitting (aside from bay ending, which obliterated my heart even though I picked bae as my canon AND I knew at the time how poorly written the scenario was. I knew it was dumb but still shouted "NO!" with tears streaming down my face when the railroad-holding-hands picture burned away).
Ep 2 was super comfy, and I have really happy memories attached to it (reconnecting with old friend and managed to save Kate first time through).
Ep 1 I mostly remember for the atmosphere and music. Whole thing felt like a prologue, didn't have time to get attached to any characters.
Ep 5 had its moments, some of them awesome, but all the focus stuff (start to finish) got a bit confusing and kinda induced a dreamlike feel. Nothing about the episode felt 'real' in-universe, which might have been what they were going for (if so, it was a bad call). For me that made a lot of it a slog through a nightmare trying to find reality. That would've been OK if there was more time spent on the main Chloe timeline AND any sort of payoff at all in an ending that features Chloe's survival. The binary choice at the end was shitty but not unexpected - sadly I'm used to unsatisfying endings in games.
Speaking of, Undertale at least got that right - the true pacifist ending there is one of the most satisfying ends I've ever seen. It should be the #1 recommendation for the people who come here asking for what to play after LiS.
Just don't go to the general before playing it - you'll get spoiled and exposed to lewds of goats.

Also I back up the statement to play Undertale and do the pacifist route. I'm working on it now, and I can't wait to see the ending. It's not taking away the pain/anger/etc, but it's working as a good distraction, and I know that I'll be satisfied at the end here, unlike with LiS. Really endearing game so far.

This reminded me of a fanfic I laughed at yesterday.
Max watched from across the hall, witness to possibly the shortest fight in Blackwell's history. She wasn't quite sure what started it, but it seemed that Victoria panicked when the blue haired girl advanced, and struck preemptively. She had to admit it was a very good looking punch, crisply delivered with perfect form, just like every highly choreographed martial arts movie Max had seen. It had landed straight on the punk's cheek too. She was sure there'd be a bruise there tomorrow. The trouble was, it didn't quite knock the demon out. The retaliation from the demon was nowhere near as impressive looking. It was really just a flurry of blows that seemed to be too fast and too fleeting to have done anything, in spite of Victoria emulating a sack of potatoes under the influence of gravity shortly after a few of them got past her guard. That was, until Max discovered she could rewind time in slow motion and saw the full effect of a fist connecting with Victoria's upper gumline in reverse: her head being pulled out of a nasty snapping action by the backward flow of time, and several teeth flying back into her mouth. Jesus. She quickly rewound further, ignoring her growing headache, until Nathan and the blue bandit were nowhere to be seen.

"Victoria, I know you've got a wardrobe full of belts but she's a literal badass monster. Do not provoke her or they won't be identifying you from dental records."
Victoria looked dubious for a moment, before Max's look of earnest concern convinced her.

Even with the complaints (which would spoiler you) it was well worth the price and time for me. Hell I'd have paid $50 and felt like I got my money's worth.
The good far outweighs the bad, and it's the flashes of brilliance that make for the disappointment you see in some posts. Overall it's up there with Undertale for my personal GOTY
