Bravely Default's pretty solid. Flawed definitely, but it's mostly just the one shit part, the rest of the game is well worth playing through.
As far as SMT goes, you can avoid grinding by being good at strategy. It's definitely not as grindy as Persona is.
Etrian Odyssey is also worth looking at. The games don't have any continuity so it's easy to just jump into the series wherever. Probably better that way too, as the early games are somewhat difficult to get into.
As for the rest of the series on your list, just start fucking playing them. If you do buy yourself a 3DS, you'll be able to play all of them on it as they're all DS titles, or you can just emulate them. DS emulation is nice and easy, you could even get a supercard and run them on the 3DS itself.

Monster Hunter is a funny game.
I've played MH4U nonstop, logged about 100+ hours into it, and now I'm a little passed G Rank and kinda burned out. I told some huge MH nut that I really liked the game too but at this point in the game I've lost the urge to addictively play, and he basically says that this is the point where Monster Hunter actually becomes fun and that maybe it's not actually "for me," or whatever that means.
There's such a secretive set of formalities to this series, people will call you out for getting carried depending on the numeric value of your builds and how the game is "actually fun" once you've reached the late game, but I here had a blast 1v1ing monsters in the story and spending hours on end hunting with people through the continuous DLC updates. I don't even really get the romanticism of late game, monsters are stronger but at that point you're all supped up hunters using cheap greatswords that can lob off limbs in one slash anyway.

So I'm playing through Golden Sun for the first time on the WiiU. Think I'm near the end of the game, supposed to head to Babi/Venus Lighthouse now.
I really want to like it because it has so many obvious references to Shining Force 1/2, some of my favorite games ever, but the battle system really isn't balanced well, the world and characters are as dull as can be, the dialogue scenes absolutely fucking drag on forever because of all the emoting, and the psynergy gimmick is just a hassle most of the time. The Motoi Sakuraba soundtrack sometimes brings back good memories of playing Advance Tour and Power Tour, but when combined with the tedious dungeons and forgettable conversations it frequently starts feeling more like a case of Tales of Phantasia PTSD.
I do appreciate, however, the option to be an obstinate little shit at every turn and say no every time anyone asks you to do anything much to your party's chagrin.

Can anybody help me out with a question about systems transfers with the 3DS consoles?
So, I have a New 3DS which my eshop account is tied to and I want to keep all my digitally owned content on. There is already eshop content on this N3DS.
I have a 3DS with a preinstalled game on it. I haven't even unpacked it yet. Is there a way to transfer this preinstalled game to the the N3DS and keep it all tied to the same eshop account?

There's a difficulty spike halfway through, and it gets harder from there without proper damage mitigation, especially the last area in the game.

Maybe calling Nintendo would do something.
If your eShop account was on an old 3DS and you system transferred to the one with a pre-installed game, you'd merge the software of both 3DSes if it didn't have a NNID. Then you'd have to wait a week to retransfer back to your original 3DS, but it's too late for that.

No, you can only link one NNID to one 3DS.

Getting Poor Visibility areas is entirely random, usually obtained by alternating which area you enter, but you'll find an area lategame with countless Shadow Giants for you to fight.
When enemies start packing AoEs in the Roaring Valley is where the difficulty picks up and only gets progressively harder.
