Matches are best of 3, loser of the match goes first the next turn.
Plus, they could change the damage balancing in PvP. Berserkers would still hit like freight trains like they should, but it'd take more like 2 or 3 hits for a kill. And those hits you could defer with invulnerability, etc.

990 ATK makes a much more noticeable difference then 990 HP, even on tanks. Going from 13.2k to 14k HP really won't change anything on D'Eon, while going from 8.7k ATK to 9.6k ATK will make a much larger impact.
That extra health is like one hit, while the attack is a marked increase in damage and can help you avoid those situations.
