there's a higher chance that you'll invade a world that already has invaders in it if you do the mad invasion. Same thing with invading as a sunlight warrior. It doesn't avoid gank squads but it helps even the odds. Usually having one other person around, even if they're shit is enough of a distraction that you can pick off some phantoms or kill the host.
Also if you play Aldrich Faithful you're pretty much guaranteed to have some backup.

no, i'm using a DSGA+5 and my ripostes do about 1600 damage, fully charged R2 1200 and a plunging something in between at SL120. STR 50 is a must have for this weapon, a little bit DEX & FTH (maybe 20 each) for some sweet extra damage and your AR goes somewhere around 750. fist weapons (such as caestus) are the only items in the game that doesn't have start up frames before you can parry. For example, the target shield takes 10 frames to start parrying, and a normal shield like a knight shield takes 14 frames to start parrying. Only fist weapons are instant.

there's a popular glitch right now. You hold a white hair talisman on your left hand and in your right hand you hold a weapon with high attack rating and multi hit repost animation (for example, any axe weapon will work but a dagger or sword will not)
you two hand the talismen, and then if you cast the spell "Sacred Flame", you'll basically do a critical hit with your right hand weapon like 10 times in a row, doing several thousand damage.

Really I was exaggerating, it's mid tier. You're at a big disadvantage against somebody with a strong weapon like an estoc or polearm though
consider that, if you used a dark sword, your attack rating would be the same, but you could attack much faster and with a lower stamina cost. Dark Souls 3 has shit balance
still though, most people online are so bad, as long as you have some skill you can still win 95% of the time using a mediocre weapon

That was actually the reason I got into the Pyromancy, I noticed I was at a serious disadvantage against weapons like that, so I compensated for it with range.
I also moved away from heavy armor to a mixture of medium and heavy to keep my encumbrance beneath 70% in order to move faster. The character development has got to be one of the best things about this game.
But yes. People online are fucking trash tier. Sometimes I wonder how some of these people even get to the areas I invade them at being as bad as they are.

Who would get upset over something so pathetic? By disconnecting they're basically just openly admitting that they know they lack the skill to even come close to winning the fight. Skill that they lack because they are content to run away from every challenge in the game, wether it be summoning 3 phantoms for every boss or disconnecting from every invasion. It's really more of a saddening thing for me then upsetting, just another guy who'll never git gud.

When it said "works from far away", i didn't expect it meant if you're more than a zweihander away you're invisible. I got double trouble invaded by a couple of aldritch faithfuls, so i popped a giant seed, sprawled out across the floor in the room under the fire wizards, and waited until they died or gave up
They walked literally within 5 feet of me several times and didn't notice me once. After about 5 minutes, one of them left and the other died killing the Drang NPCs for me. Basically got 2 free janitors come clean up the area for me.
