Pretty much the entire internet is railing against this because of the clips from them playing it like they're 90 years old and have never seen a video game before.

Not that guy, but if you'd actually played the game, you'd know that it isn't. I'm five hours in and I haven't reached hell yet. Granted I explored the entirety of the maps, but it's still more than an hour and a half even if you rush it.

You have to be retarded then. The first time you get to hell is very early on in the game before you even see Cacodemons and then you come back. I'm not talking about after you fight the Cyberdemon.
I have 8 hours in the game and just exiting Hell.I kept replaying the previous levels trying to find all the secrets and completing the challenges.
You could probably get to hell in and hour or 2 from just playing normally from the start of the level to the end.

Speaking of challenges: Is the "Death from Above" challenge in level 2 bugged or something? They want you to to kill the Possessed by glory killing them from above, but when I do nothing registers.
