After playing the beta it doesn't look to be too bad, it's only cosmetic stuff and I unlocked everything in the beta quite easily just buy playing. The main difference seems to be unlocking stuff is based on RNG what you get from the treasure chest, whereas real money will get you whatever you want.
It's shitty, but it shouldn't be game breaking and definitely won't be pay2win.

Difference is you play Uncharted for the singleplayer, where microtransactions don't exist or matter. You play Halo for the multiplayer and that is infested with microtransaction bullshit.

To be fair, with Halo 5, they've also been releasing free DLC on a pretty consistent basis. I haven't seen Naughty Dog reveal plans for that.

You do know that 343 reworked halo 5 from the ground up in a new console with completely new and different game mechanics and movement which directly affect gameplay and therefore aren't able to be balanced like they were before resulting in gamemodes having to be rebalanced and maps taking more time to design and develop.
They also revamp gamemodes with more customization and better mechanics.

Isn't the way microtransactions worked in Halo 5 was that you had to buy card packs or something to get spawnable vehicles and guns and if you didn't have that stuff you were pretty much going to get fucked over by the people who did?

You can spawn in some really powerfull stuff but the better team will overpower the lesser one at the beginning when you cant spawn any weapons. This snowballs in favor of the better team and even if you have no reqs, you can shut down anything with teamwork and a plasma pistol
I love how microtransactions in AAA games went from absolutely unacceptable to "I-it's just cosmetics guys" to "lol what are you poor?"
