When does /v/ expect battlefield x or Gta x to come out?
I've been putting off other games like bo3, hardline, and GTAV because my budgets low and I'd prefer to wait until the newest versions of these games come out. Also dont feel like jumping into a sea of try hards and hackers and griefers and shit. Not to mention Being the first into a brand new game is a great feeling.
Would like an idea of how long I'm waiting and if it's worth it.

don't expect next GTA until 2018 or so and even then it may be Red Dead. Battlefield is annual, isn't it?

I really thought of inb4'ing too.
I get if you hate all the games I've mentioned, including the console, but I really like battlefield (aside from 4 and hardline) and I enjoyed GTAV, until the community turned to shit. That and I ran out of things to do.
Instead of buying GTAV for next gen and making another rank 100+ character, and spending another 200+hrs on the campaign, I'd prefer to wait until the next one comes out. If and when. Same story for battlefield really.
In my opinion both games I have for the PS4 are pretty legit, and I'm content with the purchases I've made. All of this is beside the point. Are they working on new ones or am I waiting on nothing is the question here.

Battlefield wasn't annual up until bf3-hardline. I just didn't know if that was a permanent transition they've made to compete with Cod or not. But does that mean I could likely expect to pick up Bad company 3 this year? Or battlefield 5? Just gonna be passed if it's more cops & robbers shit.
Also I kind of got really busy, life forced me to grow up and put my hobbies aside, the last game I got on release was battlefield 4 for the 360 and was really let down. Did the hardline beta, only enjoyable aspect of the game was the tec9. Things have settled down enough to where I can get back into gaming again. I don't have a lot of money, PS4 doesn't really have a lot of games (that interest me) and Im just comfortable with the franchises that I like.
On that note, curious about metro and bioshock as well. Oh and the elder scrolls. Are these series finished?

There was no new Battlefield in 2014. Hardline got delayed. And that also means that this year's Battlefield and Hardline will still be about a year and a half apart.

ES isn't finished and in a sense not a single game in the series is "finished" being the buggy mess we all love. Bioshock is technically done but "Shock" isn't, System Shock 3 is coming. Metro 2035 may exist at some point but nothing announced, please do not get the redux version of 2033 if you can help it, it ruins that game

Great news about ES, but why not get the redox? I heard it just made shit look better and added more game play, is this not true?
Also what's your take on the possible upcoming battlefield? 5, bad company 3, or maybe a retro war like 1943. Vietnam or another WW2 Based game maybe? I just want to take a step back from zip lines and wall running.

Redux ruined almost all of the atmosphere and lighting on original, everything is too bright, stealth got easier and dumber, Artyom's voice changed and my personal biggest peeve:his watch changed from analog to digital
System Shock 1 and 2 are classics, if you loved Bioshock, SS2 is that but better. SS1 is a shooter that's technically impressive compared to DOOM, some people love it some don't.
I'm interesting in jumping into BF myself, might look into 4, a WWI game would be really cool though. 1943 was my jam.

Haven't played yet, probably won't. I was really excited for it, and then I saw the HUD, watched my cousin play it for an hour and got really bored, and lost all interest whatsoever. Besides the setting and story don't interest me in the least. Kind of another series where I'm hoping they bring back some more traditional mechanics and maybe even a setting I like. East coast wasteland doesn't do it for me. Desert was great, even southern would be cool (swamps, marshes, dense, humid, environmental threats left and right. Something new in that regard would be great
Also realizing I left bioshock out. 2 was my fav, infinite was breeds gud tho

4's worth looking into I guess, it's not bad, just wouldn't recommend someone pay $60 for it like I did, let alone the dlc. It's very intense and visually pleasing when played right and still buggy as fuck.
Would seriously love 1943 pt. II. With the aesthetic appeal if bf4, but in an old world setting. Maybe even introduce the concept of 3 countries instead of 2. (US v RU v DE)
