They don't support me in anything.
Every thing I do, I'm dumb for doing it and should just stay at home taking care of them at all times. That's why they had kids after all.
>>
Mum hates them with a passion, fuck knows why since she sits in social media 24/7. Dad used to play them with me occasionally.

My Dad doesn't mind any of my hobbies and just wants to see me happy. He asks me questions about vidya and weeb shit sometimes but that's about it.

He liked the older Splinter Cell games back in the day.

My Mom doesn't really give a shit about my hobbies. She likes extremely casual stuff like Candy Crush and Farmville.

She actually bought me my first N64 though, and I probably would have been a normie if it wasn't for that.
>>
My dad and I used to play through all the Halo games together until 343 fucked it all up with 5. He still enjoys the series on his own though.

My parents don't care, I've got a job and finished school.

Well that's kinda true but I'm talking right now. I mean PSVR will come out soon but it just isn't going to be the same only having a single camera to track. You can count out games like SPT and Holopoint.

And my dad literally plays more video games than I do.

I have a college education, and a lucrative career materializing. My parents have both already accepted that I am better than them at life, so they're basically afraid to criticize me. My sister is the only one with enough balls to call me out on my pointless hobbies.

My mom doesn't really care or ask about it
My dad keeps pressuring me to do other things but doesn't make that big a fuss about it, he's tried playing a few things but they don't really keep his attention. The last thing he tried was Pheonix Wright on iOS, and he got stuck on the second case.
They also tried to stop me from bringing any consoles or my PC to university, just letting me bring a shitty laptop, but I got tired of that pretty quickly and just smuggled some PC parts in so that I could have something to play on. They didn't know for the entirety of my degree

It took me so long to realise how valuable a persona of discipline and interest in the workplace really is. Apathetic and unmotivated is such a normality for most people that doing anything outside of your expected duties attracts attention and gives you personal value far beyond your resume. As long as you're always prepared to fake confidence, wing it, move up and sacrifice a bit of time you will, even if means changing professions a few times, always appreciate the effort in hindsight.

>>345423792

I know this feeling all too well.
Nothing really excites me. I feel no passion towards anything. Honestly, the only reason why I went to college was because I had nothing else better to do. I didn't even know what I wanted to do. Somehow i ended up becoming an artfag and majoring in animation, on the sole reasoning that I like drawing animu girls and I'd like to work in vidya, but not touch the coding stuff too much.

It's enjoyable but the closer senior year approaches, I just feel the weight of the world closing in on me. Like all I can think about is how much im wasting my parents money just because I need someone to tell me I got a A on a test to make myself feel better. Doesnt help I had to pick the MOST expensive art school there is in my state.

I agree, doing animation for a job is difficult especially if you want to work for an animation business. Animating features and participating in large projects, especially as a graduate, is highly competitive. Amateur productions will expect you to donate time and labor at least initially and more established projects often consider your experience as payment and you end up tweening and doing dogshit jobs.

Yeah, advertising is definitely one, and a growing industry that expands by billions annually. It's also now an industry that needs re-evaluating online, something you already have some expertise on. Generally though if you can offer a company quality graphical and animated assets for their business, regardless of what it is, you should have no problem finding work.

Ive worked about 4 jobs in my life and at every one I offered to do design work for extra cash; making posters, index sheets, general documents, manuals, crappy little flash animations and video editing. I learned Adobe premiere overnight so I could make the promo-video for an event which landed me two more jobs from other local bars. People don't know shit about good design or care about visual mediums until it's in their face. Photoshop, videoediting in general and flash are still far beyond most people in the workplace, you could do infinitely more with a grasp on actual animation.

I'm a dropout as I said before but now I run my own business, that was kind of the point. I started that process by working and learning under people even when I didn't necessarily like or respect who they were as people. If you can't demonstrate dedication to a task and work on professional relationships in your field you will end up stuck. Thinking you should never be working under someone just shows how incredibly naive you are, thinking you know more than everyone else.

I got an opportunity to chase a dream in something I loved and never expected to do for a career. I'm 25, I get to live in a nice house, been comfortably investing in property for 2 years, helping my parents to retire and I work for myself doing a job that brings me very little stress anymore. Two months time I'll be raising a daughter, I consider my life close to perfect now and it was opposite 6 years ago. My only disposable income was tips and I studied during the days and worked at night to pay rent.

My only point is that it is worth working hard, and you can do the things you love.

I would just find a really low key job that barely makes me work. My coworker was a grocery store janitor despite being a 70+ year old retired gunnery sergeant. His reasoning? He didn't like being home alone while his wife, equally old, was out working. He literally got the job because he missed his wife during the few hours that they were not together, and wanted to spend that time being productive.

For you though, just find a job that lets you get away with anything, and see how much mischief you can cause.

esports is entirely dominated by young kids because they hire them as fucking 12 year olds in korea and china, and train them 16 hours a day.

I worked as a manager/translator for a US league team back in season 2 that bought a house in korea to train, and let me just tell you this, they spent almost no time actually training and practicing, then wondered why they were losing everything. The team ended up dissipating before worlds that year anyway, but damn.

Anyway, on the topic, my mom wanted me to put pokemon go on her phone and we went for a walk around the park to catch some pokemon, it was pretty fun.

Don't stream, don't sit around jerking off, don't go out to eat, don't date, don't leave your house. Stay inside, and practice. That's why the koreans shit all over the US in pretty much everything not involving brute strength from fucking golf to esports.

Mexi-fag here. Dad is a diehard Xbox player. Since the original Xbox from like '01. Used to gangbang heavy until my sister was born and played shooters to kind of channel his anger into, eventually developed into a competitive thing. Mainly plays The Division , Destiny, any COD, and at the moment. Doesn't care much for story/atmosphere, always loved online multiplayer regardless of design as long as it has decent gameplay. Bought me an Xbox One about 2 weeks after it was released just so I could play games and give him extra opinions. Recently he's been interested in PC gaming since he found out you can still use controllers, I'm interested to see where that goes. Huge hobby for him, he's a godly player. I've literally never won any game against ever, even games that I play and he's never heard of (granted he plays a few quick tutorials) Kind of scary knowing his reflexes are so good since he's been shooting .357 and AK's since he was 13.

Well I'm a NorteƱo from Modesto, CA. It's true alot of Hispanics like myself are in jail and selling drugs and gangbanging, but all the white people I met were either
A.) People who went into the army because they realized they weren't smart enough for college
B.) Hooked on heroin or meth (usually meth, reason why i never let a whitey hit my blunt at a party)
C.) Registered sex offender
D.) (best case scenario) $35,000/yr. Income with decent car, living in a shitty apartment complex that usually has an empty fridge, extremely comfortable couch that was also their bed, PS4, 40 inch television, some Sennheiser headphones and about a stack of either KendrickLamar/J.Cole or Slipknot/Slayer CDs. I know this because I've been to many of these apartments either helping old high school friends get their stolen shit back or to hook them up with a dealer.
Blacks aren't that much better but those that deal get very good at and make about thousand/week or those that go the college route get scholarships for sports. Every color has their shortcomings, whatever color you are is no exception. Unless you're an American born Indian, cause in NorCal all those fuckers are loaded with money.

My mom plays less mainstream games, but she actually plays a lot more than he does, even if it's usually just the Sims, and more recently Pokemon Go.
