So when he comes out, might be considered a villain. If Doomfist becomes a playable character, then he'll probably be on the dark side of the team. I hope he does join the cast, it would explain why Reaper / Widowmaker were trying to steal the gauntlet in the reveal trailer.

That's is a misconception.
Soldier tells Phara that her mother would be proud, to which Phara replied 'You didn't know my mother very well", which would lead you to believe that. But her conversation with Ana pre-game paints a different picture.
At its core, Phara wanted to be a fighter like her mother and to fight alongside her ("I always dreamed we would fight together"), whereas her mother just wanted her to have a normal, good life ("Wanting a better life for you is was all I ever dreamed of"). I'm paraphrasing, but Phara has no problem with her mother. She just knows that being a soldier was not what her mother wanted of her.

With the changes to Zenyatta and the upcoming new hitboxes for smaller heroes, I feel like Widow is even more underwhelming now. You almost always need to get a headshot if you want to be a credit to your team, since you're not going to be contesting or flanking shit, but headshots are so unreliable Hanzo is a much better pick since he's more mobile, 20 sec CD wallhacks and a fucking shotgun arrow that gibs tanks even more than a Widow headshot. Never mind Widow's 1.5 sec charge up from unscoped Widow's Kiss to get full benefit from her damage.

Mecree is a 1v1 character with no hoard control and is demolished in any other situation. Mei has a bit of the same problems but her wall and blizzard overcomes that.
Winston is such a large and very easy target to kill. Saying he can kill anyone with less than 250 health is saying he is effective at killing every assault character, which is obviously not the case. I'd also argue that Zarya is the best tank, and Zenyatta is the best healer.

I'm glad Reyes has a bitch because honestly it's too fucking easy to pain him with the broadstroke of being "the villain". Reyes' Blackwatch team had methods that were diametrically opposed to Overwatch and Reyes' was fanning flames that had the two teams, despite being the same squad, come to blows. I know McCree was a good enough juvenile criminal for Reyes to recruit directly into Blackwatch but he apparently was on neutral ground and didn't want to throw in with Reyes. As it stands Reyes is on his own and held affinity toward Sombra with the voiceline he has that's floating around where he asks ["Where's Sombra when you need her?"].
