Can somebody explain to me what is so incredible about the new Zelda? I watched an hour long playthrough of the demo and it looked .... boring, to be honest. Particularly in terms of the combat. it has a lot of interactive world building stuff like cutting down trees and cooking and climbing, which is "neato" I guess, but it didn't really seem like anything all that special. What's the hype exactly? Why are you excited when they haven't even shown anything remotely exciting? This reminds me a lot of No Man's Sky in that way only this title gets a free pass

Not same anon but UC4 is overrated and has no replayability. First time through is good but once it's done you really realise how nothing the "game" is. It takes control away every five minutes for cut scenes and even sometimes in gameplay sections forces you to slow down to listen to the shit dialogue. Last of us is exactly the same. Neil druckman and neo naughty dog are just a bunch of wannabe film makers. Not the good kind either.

All the gameplay that was shown is dynamic. No scripted events. Maybe you aren't impressed by it, I don't know, but it looks good. For example, you can destroy chests instead of opening them, or enemies ignite their weapons, or the integrated shield surf.

To be honest I'm not exactly sure what was playable on the floor and what wasn't, couldn't tell you. But I can say BoTW was one of the more lackluster things I did see after hearing so many good things about it. Overall, nothing coming out in the next 12 months has shown anything to convince me to buy a next-gen console or upgrade my graphics card, so take that into consideration.
If I had to pick one game I thought had potential it'd probably be that Last of Us 2.0 game. Despite lacking any originality it at least looked new and exciting, and if we're comparing it to a Zelda game that's not exactly an argument that can be used against it. It's impossible that was playable though, and it probably won'tt end up as cool as the trailers, just like last of us.
