Because I'm running 1440p, I'm thinking about changing the GPU to GTX 1070 once the worst price jewing eases off. I'm sure that upgrading the CPU would bring positive effects too, but that doesn't change the fact that GPU upgrade still gives more bang for the buck.
FX-8320 OC'd to 3.8 (3.8 cuz its on a 970 mobo).
Its water cooled by an H60 and usually stays around the low 50's when under load.
If there's something I find funny, it's how people for some reason consider CPU bottlenecks the end of the world. If your CPU bottlenecks games even 10% of time, all people in tech forums consider your rig practically unusable and requiring an immediate update, even though GPU is still the weakest link for majority of the time.
I get it, it's not fun to run with underpowered CPU, but it's not like bottlenecks caused by it are inherently any worse than ones caused by GPU.

I can still play them, but most not at 60 FPS even on lower settings.
The particularly bad ones are DOOM, GTAV, Just Cause 3, and Rise. Doom is literally unplayable for me because of how much the framerate jitters around. It literally jumps between 20 and 60 FPS depending on environment on medium-low settings.
I mean fuck even Overwatch dips for me into the 40s and that is a game that is pretty well optimized.

6600K OC'd to 4.4GHz. Doesn't ever wince at anything I throw at it, even with my 1080. Incredibly solid processor that I can recommend until the next K i5 comes out
