Why do people not understand? There's absolutely no reason to beef up servers after a game launches. The hype will die down after a few weeks, and all the server upgrades they did will be for nothing.

Pokemon is know in just about every country in the world. How many people in your town play? multiply that by every town in the United States + Europe + every other area that has been added to the cool kid list. Can you think of any company in the world that could predict the load the servers would take???? A fucking world wide game! Stop complaining and just enjoy the fact that you are alive is a time where this game is even a reality.
It boils down to money. It costs more money to have a bigger server. So companies want to spend just enough for the game to run and not more than that. The fear is if they spend too much on servers they might be wasting money for nothing if it is a flop. This is also for the long run too, not use in spending money and resources on servers when the playerbase will eventually drop off at least somewhat.
