Master directional single imputs of a single nature first, like her normals, don't focus on her big ass swords for the moment even though they are important, make sure you are comfortable with the basics and then move up bit by bit, ramlethal is not nearly as rewarding since she fell a lot in terms of viability but she is my chocolate waifu so I learned her anyway.

Ramlethal is not good for beginners. She lacks strong neutral and replies on braindead oki setups to win, which requires a lot of grinding in training mode which is not what you want to be doing to learn fighting games. You'll end up with an endless list of bad habits that will only frustrate you when you fight someone who can blow you up. Pick Sol or Ky and try winning mainly with buttons, fireballs and small combos for punishes and anti airs.

This really. It's easy to grow bored with the game if you just start using Sol or Ky simply because they're easy. Stick with Ram, learn the game with her, and you'll ultimately have a better time regardless of the commitment required. Better to go through a struggle than put yourself in a situation where you quit out of not caring at all.

It's pretty complicated compared to the fundamentals of Street Fighter.
A lot of the game revolves around Okizeme or the "wake up game" where you basically knock someone down, then as they get up, fuck them up before they can know what's happening.
Which basically means, someone is going to knock you down, then fuck you but before you even know what's happening.

there are a lot of factors that go into being good at a fighting game. a lot of people think they have a reputation i had one but gave up on fighting games years ago since the industry stagnated
you need to know your range of all basics for pokes. you need to visually know how far the extend and where they go with any character you use. you also need to know how fast they are so you can interrupt your opponent. a good thing to do in a game without projectiles is to do a quick refresh use of your fastest basic for that character and note how far ahead of the character it extends. even if your hit remember how far ahead it is
you need to use what you can to mind fuck your opponent after you have frustrated them by beating them to the punch. do stuff a few times then change it up with a throw. example a basic low high combo then after the second time doing it do the low but then just throw if the game doesnt allow you to throw a ducking character
change ups can be important (attacking while jumping over a enemy) but you have to know when some one has a good enough anti air game that its not a option. its not just what character they use its the player specifically. you have to test them. jump towards but not in range of it but close this requires you to know the distance forward for all anti air moves for that character
a lot of this is memory based as all combos are. many think of fighting games as button mashing but its mostly memory and a fair bit of timing

BB is significantly more popular than GG in Japan, what are you talking about? It's one of the most popular games at the arcades and tournaments there. The western playerbase isn't as big because the designs turn people off, but that has jack shit to do with the gameplay itself.
Also GGXrd is the fighting game for westeners and struggles to reach high numbers despite the people claiming it's gods gift to man. It had no reason to appear at EVO for 2 years because GG got 2 mainline games while BB got an Extend version, and the real mainline game which is CF comes out later this year.
