Extremely different - Grandia 1 and 2 have a similar charm in the music and writing, though the stories are completely different. Grandia 1 is about a boy who wants to go on an adventure and it really captures that emotion and spirit and in my opinion, creates the most likeable cast out of almost any video game. The first disc focuses on the characters and explores them and the romance that blossoms between the protagonist and his love interest while the second disc is where the actual story they get embroiled in really picks up. In a way the story is one of the less interesting things about the game, but the characters' journey through it made it an impossible game for me to put down.
