Hanzo is such a frustratingly poor design decision and completely ruins a lot of the enjoyment in overwatch
People just sit around insta locking him, often even 2 on one team in quick play, fire at least 30 or so arrows before hitting anything, and get bullshit one hit kills by simply aiming at the ground and using the scatter arrow. The normal one shot kills aren't much better as they are usually completely and utterly random rather than being aimed on a player, which makes the kill cam even more frustrating.
Then if you have a good Hanzo on the enemy team, they will probably just shoot endless arrows at the imbecilic roadhog or reinhardt on your team who will literally feed them ultimates and never even attempt to dodge the incredibly signalled dragons.
I usually play Lucio in quickplay as no one ever picks support, and there's no point picking mercy because of bad team mates, and I just run around Hanzo's punching them as they desperately try to shoot me.

My best advice to people playing vs and with these shitters is to get good. The better you get (and higher rank you are) the better your team mates will be and the less retarded instalock hanzos you see.
In fact in my ranked matches I've NEVER seen an instalock Hanzo, and the people who first pick Genji have been competent for the most part and willing to switch when needed.
Only once did I have a retarded Hanzo instalocker that didn't switch all game, and it was when I queued with my rank 40 friend for some competitive. Needless to say I carried the everloving shit out of that match with Soldier 76 while shit talking the Hanzo for being useless, even the enemy team agreed with me and called him shit.
In due time these players will reach their real placement, which I assume is around the 30s low 40s. If you're good and continue playing you'll reach a better level where you see these players less and less.

So often you see someone with like 20-40 hours played on a character (usually Hanzo / Widow / Genji) and they have like ~30% win ratio.
I mean, how long does it take to realize that they just can not play a hero for shit, and when they win they are obviously carried to victory.
It's always the insta-pickers too. And even if they are countered by the entire team it does not occur to them to swap. Thankfully there is so many of these retards that there is usually one in each team to balance things out.

Here's a big thing: Statistically most players are in the 45-53 range. This means that in this range, you will constantly be paired amongst the "average" players, and in general will be constantly placed with players who actually have HUGE gaps in skill but the system deems don't because it doesn't take into account the large numbers of players in these ranks. The only way to escape is to get amazing placements, be insanely better than the average, or get more good players than shitters. But the game will keep on dragging you into matches with shitters anyway.
The game needs you to not only be good solo, but be good enough to make up for weaker players as well to get out of those average ranks.

I have to wonder what ranks you guys are at to keep getting shit like this. I play at rank 70 and when a Hanzo does get picked there's a decent chance he's really good at the character. I see all these comparisons to Widow with him as well, but that's completely the wrong way of looking at it, Hanzo is a short-to-mid range, high damage skirmisher, not a long range sniper like Widow.
The same thing with Genji, rarely do I see him picked, but when I do, he often works out pretty well.

most players i've come across playing hanzo suck ass and we end up losing. genji though, nah. I mostly tank or support, but if my team just plain sucks then i switch to genji and start flanking and getting dubs and trips.
