Blood Gulch doesn't even rank in my top 10 of Halo maps.

Holy shit you millennials are giving me some good laughs this morning.

You mean the halo pc demo?
Sidewinder was the better vehicle map.

Halo has some of the best and most iconic multiplayer maps in vidya history.

Facingworlds is awful, I don't know how you can like that map unless you're a sniperbabby

It's literally 2fort

not even the best map in the halo series

Danger Canyon from Halo PC is the best map in the series

It was made by Gearbox exclusively for the PC version

Only good quake map is campgrounds.

Tf2's 2fort was amazing pre f2p/new weapons.

If you're a late 90s baby and or console scrub.

No.
>>
>>345313298
Makes sense, since it's not from Quake.
>>
>>345313479
2fort was never amazing. It's always been a shitty deathmatch map and jerkoff spot for Engineer and Sniper.
>>
>>345313185
Guardian is better

>>345313385
Sandtrap is better
>>
>>345313479
TF2's 2fort has always been terrible, its not designed for TF2 characters, it worked in TF classic but TF2 mobility is insane and it breaks the map so they have to add that terrible skybox

If you're a scrub it is. Pre sniper invulnerability to spies it was an awesome map. Rocket jumping was extremely rewarding and it was next to impossible to be sniped when you did it from the sewer.
One of the better maps when playing with the original load out.
>>
>>345313674
The skybox in TF2's 2fot is pretty high. No reason to want it taller. Except for griefing.

In the early version you could rocket jump over the fence and be unable to be shot but shoot through the fence yourself...

It's garbage, the interior of each base is so congested and chokepointy, the actual intel room gets destroyed by engineer stacking, it's literally deathmatch because playing the objective is an exercise in futility.

If you like deathmatch I guess it's a good map but that also makes you a faggot
>>
>>345313974
>the interior of each base is so congested and chokepointy,
Which made it very easy to get in and easy to block. If you put that many resources into the intel room then your respawn would just get camped.

It's very well designed for skilled players. For pubs it turns into a death match. You get like 3 engineers in the intel room and the pubs are too stupid to then just camp the respawn.

I agree with all of this. It's an awful lot of work to get into the intel room and people can pop out from anywhere so it breaks down into deathmatches. On the other hand, since there are so many paths to take and varying forms of defense it is fun to make a push on the enemy base. It's really nothing like the other TF2 maps and matches drag on forever, but it is fun to play. Playing with snipers or engineers, or playing as a spy, isn't really fun at all and just slows down the game even more. It's fun for running and gunning, though, since the map has so many branching paths.

It handles a large number of players fairly well, but it can turn into a death march pretty easily. Maybe if you enforced Highlander or something there might be more strategy involved. And yeah, the new items ruin it and completely go against the level design by messing with the balance of the classes. I don't think the Razorback is that bad but the Targe and Gunslinger both cause a lot of problems.

The first bunch of class updates were mostly fine on 2fort, but WAR! fucked it up. Valve likes Payload and Capture Points, and all of the later updates reflect this. A lot of items now just remind me of Dota where the end goal is ultimately setting up for burst damage. It changes the way you play, but not the functions your class can perform for the team. Team tactics were definitely still in Valve's minds for the earlier class updates, so the early items were boring but useful.

There used to be some degree of military tactics. Now it doesn't really matter what you do as long as you have high DPS.

you're replying to a sarcastic reply.
The point was that it's obviously very basic. But nobody cares about how basic it is, it's just perfect.
No unnecessary complications, half-assed or depressing structures, so-complex-it-isnt-fun routes. It's so simple and yet so enjoyable.
